Te Mātāwai are proud to support the development of HIKUROA - a game for whānau, hapori and iwi to learn and use kupu whakarite (metaphors, similes, and figurative language).

This game is designed for intermediate to advance learners/speakers of te reo Māori and has two modes:
1. AKO mode, where there is only one team and you learn new kupu whakarite as you go.
2. MĀTAU mode, where you compete against your friends to be the champion!

We recommend starting in AKO mode before your hoa becomes your hoariri!
