D.D. Mirage take over Stan’s this Friday.

The Sydney duo of Josh Dives and Disky Dee have quickly become one of the key names in Australia’s Balearic new wave, blending disco, synth pop, post punk, street soul and lovers rock into something built for both sun drenched afternoons and late night dancefloors.

Following the release of their debut album Exotic Illusions, sold out live shows and sets at Dark M**o and Strawberry Fields, they bring their deep digging selections to Stan’s.

The beginning. Raw, gritty and unmistakably New York. Nine MCs, one crew and a sound that changed the rules of East Coast hip-hop.

💿 Raekwon: Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... (1995)
The expansion. Raekwon and Ghostface Killah take the Wu sound into cinematic territory. Mafioso rap, vivid storytelling and some of the crew’s most iconic production.

⚔️ GZA: Liquid Swords (1995)
The masterpiece. Dark, cerebral and razor-sharp, with GZA bringing a colder, more calculated edge to the Wu-Tang universe.

This Wednesday 30th of September, FRONT 2 BACK heads into the strange, restless world of Talking Heads... Spanning three records that helped reshape what rock, funk, art-pop and dance music could sound like.

🎸 Talking Heads: 77 (1977)
The beginning. Nervy guitars, angular rhythms and David Byrne’s unmistakable delivery, introducing a band that sounded completely unlike anything around them.

🥁 Remain In Light (1980)
The breakthrough. Polyrhythms, funk, African inspired grooves, layered percussion and Brian Eno’s production come together on one of the band’s most adventurous records.

🗣️ Speaking In Tongues (1983)
The evolution. Sharper, brighter and more dance-driven, bringing the band’s experimental instincts into a more immediate and infectious sound.
