What a great success our Helping Hands Information Evening was last Thursday at The Lion Richlands 👏

A record turnout, with members from 30 different organisations all attending to learn more about our Community Grants Program - this was almost double the attendance in 2025 📈

With Round 3 of our Helping Hands Community Grants opening on the 1st of October, our Information Evening served as a way to bring local organisations and clubs together to provide a clear breakdown of how our program works and the support The Lion is aiming to offer.

Through the Helping Hands Project, we aim to connect with and support local community and sporting groups, charities, and initiatives. Our goal is to provide grant writing assistance and financial support to help our community continue to grow.

A big thank you to Matthew Fitzpatrick, who works alongside us to provide grant-writing support and delivered a fantastic presentation to give our attendees a clear insight into the process 🤝

It's a project very important to us at The Lion, and it's great to see it continue to grow.

🐾 Allie’s Journey: Our Smart Pups Assistance Dogs Update

The Lion Richlands is proud to sponsor Allie as part of the QCM Group, supporting her journey to becoming a future assistance dog with Smart Pups. 💛

Over the past month, Allie has been making wonderful progress with her training, building a strong bond with her new trainer and developing her confidence, obedience and public access skills.

From exploring new environments to tackling obstacle courses independently, Allie has been taking every challenge in her stride. One of her biggest achievements this month was visiting the busy Eumundi Markets, where she showed impressive focus and confidence despite all the sights, sounds and distractions around her!

Every training session and new experience helps Allie develop the skills she needs for the important role ahead of her.

We’re so proud to be part of Allie’s journey and look forward to following her progress as she continues to learn, grow and prepare for the future.

At The Lion Richlands, we believe in supporting initiatives that make a meaningful difference in our community. Through our sponsorship, we’re helping Smart Pups continue their incredible work, one paw at a time. 🐶

A new chapter is taking shape at The Lion Richlands.

Our General Manager, Justin Hall, recently took the Admin team through the renovation site, providing a first look at the spaces that will soon become their new offices and giving the team an insight into the significant transformation currently underway across the venue.

From our new administration offices to an extended Gaming Room, a refreshed Kids Room, a brand-new bar and an enhanced outdoor area, there’s plenty happening behind the scenes.

These works represent a significant investment in the future of The Lion, with a focus on creating improved spaces for our members, guests, staff and the wider community.

While there’s still plenty of work to be done, we’re looking forward to watching these spaces come to life and welcoming everyone back to experience the finished transformation.

Stay tuned for more updates as the renovations progress!
