This is John, owner of The Ship Inn, out on the farm.
Farming runs deep in the family. John was raised on a sheep and cattle property in south-west Queensland, and today that connection to the land continues through Boonara, where livestock is raised with care, patience and a genuine respect for the produce.
A lot of what we do at The Ship Inn comes back to that simple idea: know where your food comes from, support good farming, and let quality produce do the talking.
That farm-to-table connection has become a big part of who we are, from the lamb we’re known for through to the broader protein program across the menu.
Family farm. Family-owned pub. Good produce, handled properly.
And sometimes the story behind the plate starts with a quad bike, a paddock and a very well-worn hat.
