If you’re in the city on the week-ends and you want to go to a piano bar, then here are some options. The music starts around 7:30 PM.

FRIDAY night: - The Irish Club in Elizabeth St. opposite the Hilton. You don’t have to be a member to get in, although there are advantages if you do join such as discounts on meals, tickets to the feature shows, parking at the Wintergarden carpark, etc.

SATURDAY night: The Spring Hill Hotel on the corner of Upper Edward and Leichhardt St. This is one of Brisbane’s oldest pubs, has the only ‘real’ beer garden in the city, and a dedicated bar for the piano music.

I regret to advise that this Friday (28th June) will be the last night for the piano bar at the Spring Hill Hotel until further notice. This is a really nice little bar, so I encourage everyone to come along if they can.

The uni student charity event which was transferred from Pink Piano to the Spring Hill Hotel for Wednesday night (24th) has some tickets available. Book online (see below), or there may be tickets still available at the door ($12). You don't have to be a student to attend, but it will be dominated by Gen Y.

Why: To support the Neurosurgical Department at the Korle Bu Hospital in Ghana

Dods’ and Pink Piano was due to open this week. We regret to advise there has been a last minute business decision by Dods’ management NOT to proceed with reopening the venue, now or in the future. The building will remain for sale.

For all the uni students and friends who were attending the TIME charity event this Wednesday night, it has been transferred to the Spring Hill Hotel (cnr. of Little Edward and Leichhardt St.).

Thank you for all the kind words by many of our supporters since we closed and almost reopened.

OPENS IN LATE APRIL

The venue previously known as Pink Piano is now called Dods' (after the renowned Brisbane architect Robin Dods who designed the building), and is under new ownership and management.

Pink Piano is now located downstairs at Dods’ (still part of the Dods’
establishment), and is open Friday and Saturday nights. The music starts at 7:30 PM, and there is a cover charge ($10) for entry into the piano bar. However, it should be noted that ‘basic’ beer, wine, spirits, and all cocktails (including the Pink Piano) will be cheaper than before. Also, you will have the opportunity to become a Dods’ member, entitling you to further discounts on food and drinks.

At Dods', dress standards apply, and there is table service for
food and drinks. Group bookings and functions will be well catered for. Also, private bookings of the Pink Piano bar, or even the entire Dods' venue will be considered (excluding Fri/Sat nights).

So check your diary, grab your friends and work colleagues, and plan a visit to Dods' in the near future.
