MILE9@SCW Takes Over South City Wine

Melbourne’s cult Detroit-style pizza crew Mile9 is landing at South City Wine, taking over the Woolloongabba wine bar from Wednesday, August 19 for a minimum four-week residency.

Following its sell-out Brisbane pop-up at our sister restaurant Sasso Italiano | South City Square , Mile9 is back with its signature thick, crispy-edged Detroit-style pizzas, alongside buttermilk fried chicken, crispy chicken burgers, seasoned wedges, Mile9 ranch and a hot sauce wall for those who like things spicy.

The takeover kicks off with an open-invite launch party from 6pm on Wednesday, August 19. Pizza and snacks are on the house with any drink purchased, with a live DJ and vinyl spinning throughout the night. No bookings are required, but guests are encouraged to join the invite list by emailing [email protected] with their name and number of attendees.

Behind the bar, expect cocktails canned in-house, including the Tanqueray Supersize Negroni, Long Island Iced Tea, Espolòn Paloma and lightly sparkling Cherry Old Fashioned, alongside Mile9 vino pours, American beer buckets and the South City Wine list.

Out on the deck, the Dal Zotto Bocce Club brings some early-spring energy with bocce, Dal Zotto magnums and Limoncello Spritzes made for long Saturday afternoons.

And South City Wine’s famous $2 oysters aren’t going anywhere, available Wednesday and Thursday from 5–6pm and Saturday from 12–5pm.
