🇺🇦 SEPTEMBER SPECIALS — A TASTE OF BUKOVYNA

This September, we’re taking you to Bukovyna — a beautiful and multicultural region nestled between the Carpathian Mountains and the Dniester River.

Today, Northern Bukovyna forms part of Ukraine around Chernivtsi, while Southern Bukovyna lies in Romania. For centuries, Ukrainian, Romanian, Moldovan and other cultures have come together here, creating distinctive traditions, crafts — and some seriously good food.

And this month, you can taste a little of Bukovyna right here at the Ukrainian Club Brisbane. 💙💛

🌽 Bukovynian Mamalyha with Slow-Cooked Pork
Мамалига з тушкованою свининою

A traditional cornmeal dish enjoyed for generations throughout Bukovyna, the Carpathians, Romania and Moldova. Rich and comforting, our mamalyha is served with tender slow-cooked pork and savoury feta cheese.

Капронова бабка

A traditional Bukovynian dessert also known as Baba Neagră — wonderfully soft, moist and rich with caramel and chocolate flavours.

Chernivtsi has a wonderful café culture stretching back to the Austro-Hungarian era, while nearby Mamaivtsi has become known for its enormous pumpkin fields.

We’ve brought the two together with our house-made pumpkin spice syrup for a little Bukovynian-inspired twist on your coffee.
