The most expensive bottle of whisky 🤑🥃

“The Macallan Fine and Rare 60 Year Old was bequeathed the status of the most expensive bottle of whisky ever sold at auction when in 2019 it sold for a record-breaking $1.9m at Sotheby’s in London. It’s considered the founding father of The Macallan Fine and Rare series – a collection of 57 vintage single-malt whiskies produced by the distillery over eight decades – which remains the most coveted whisky collection to this day.”

​In 2019, Sullivans Cove French Oak Single Cask was awarded “World’s Best Single Cask Single Malt” at the World Whiskies Awards. This followed winning the same award for our American Oak Single Cask in 2018, making Sullivans Cove the only distillery in the world to ever win the award twice. In 2014, Sullivans Cove French Oak was also named “World’s Best Single Malt” at the World Whiskies Awards, and is still the only Australian whisky ever to win World’s Best. ​Have you heard of the Rare Cask Mizunara from in Tasmania? It's a single malt inspired by the new-world dominance of Japanese whisky. This drop turns its attention towards the Japanese origin of Mizunara casks, which are built from one of the rarest oaks in the world 🇯🇵🌳

FUN FACT: ​Do you know the age of the oldest bottle of whisky in the world? 🤔

It’s around 150 years old! The Glenavon Special Liqueur Whisky was bottled on Speyside, in north-east Scotland, between 1851 and 1858. It sold for auction in 2006 for £ 14,850 (AU$ 26,226) 🤑
