What a wonderful evening at the Bowning Hotel last night! 🎉
Over 100 community members gathered to celebrate the announcement of our Yass Valley Council Australia Day award nominees. It was inspiring to see so many locals recognized for their significant contributions to our community.
A huge thank you to Mayor Jasmin Jones, Deputy Mayor Kristin Butler, Federal Member Michael McCormack, State Member Wendy Tuckerman, and other distinguished guests for joining us to honour these exceptional nominees.
Special mention to Jim Hutton, who received multiple nominations across different categories - a true testament to his outstanding community service!
A big shout-out to our amazing team - Kylie, Sam, Belinda, and Darcy - and everyone behind the scenes who ensured we had delicious finger food and cool drinks on a warm evening. Your hard work made the night a success!
Thank you to Yass Valley Council for actively bringing these important events to villages like Bowning, ensuring all our communities beyond the Valley's major urban centres are included and celebrated.
Congratulations to all nominees. Your dedication and hard work make Yass Valley the wonderful place it is today. 👏

🎄✨ What a wonderful Christmas celebration at the Bowning Hotel! ✨🎄
Our amazing community came together last weekend for a truly special day. Will made a grand entrance on his beautifully restored antique McCormick Farmall tractor, and Santa arrived in style on the back of a shining white ute, bringing joy and gifts to our delighted kids! 🎅🚜
The community spirit was incredible! Michael fired up the BBQ for a fantastic sausage sizzle, while everyone contributed delicious dishes: Emily's cob loaf and salads, Tania's impressive cheese and cabanossi plate, Kyle's delicious salad and roast veg, Stacey and Joe's potato bake and show-stopping pavlova, Allan and Kate's generous meat trays, Vanessa's bacon & zucchini slice, Kylie's chicken wings, Michelle's vol-au-vents, and the unforgettable condensed milk slice from Mausie! 🍴🎉
A huge thank you to Santa and his wonderful helpers, Darcy who kept us all well hydrated on her first solo shift, Belinda for her fantastic organisation, and every single person who came along to make this day so memorable. This is what community is all about! ❤️
