Malt Shovel Taphouse closes...
It is with great sadness that Malt Shovel Taphouse at Stockland Birtinya will close its doors 3pm Friday with the company directors unable to secure a new lease.
Malt Shovel Taphouse has been widely well known for its rotisserie kitchen and the wide variety of craft beers on tap. As a tourist and local destination it attracted people visiting the Sunshine Coast and wanting to trial craft beer. It was voted one of the best places to visit on the Sunshine Coast and won an Eat Drink Design Award.
Michelle Christoe stated, ‘we tried really hard to secure a proposal that would have enabled us to keep the venue going; but unfortunately the odds were not in our favour on this occasion.’
‘We would like to thank our awesome staff and loyal customers for their support. We are truly sad to see them go’.
‘As a thank you and opportunity to farewell the staff, we are offering patrons 25% off all food 11-9pm Thursday and 11-3pm Friday.’
