Located in the centre of Victoria, Bendigo boomed after the discovery of gold in the 1850s. Within a year Bendigo was transformed from a sheep station to a major settlement and is now the fourth largest inland city in Australia. The Lutheran Church has a long and proud association with Bendigo, the first Church building having been established back in 1865. Bethlehem Lutheran Church Bendigo sees o

ur LATC ministry as a great opportunity to provide a space for Christian artists to bring their music and stories to the people of Bendigo. The GPO Tapas Bar & Restaurant in Pall Mall Bendigo have offered for us to use their semi alfresco area to host our LATC events, so we will be moving to the busy centre of Bendigo to restart LATC Bendigo in June this year. We will be aiming to hold monthly events at the new venue, which will give our artists a great opportunity to present their music to people from all different backgrounds. With the new venue, we can change the whole structure for the evening. The GPO is happy for us to offer artists the choice of Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday nights and they are also happy if our artist would like to do more than one of these nights in the given week. While we are wanting to offer the week of the first Wednesday in every month, there is no need to have this set in concrete and we can be flexible with dates. With the Sunday night, there is a small possibility that if the GPO received a booking for which they need their alfresco area, it may need to be moved/cancelled to work in with everyone. GPO, in most cases would know this 3-4 weeks before the date, so we should be able to work with this. They don’t see Wednesday and Thursday nights having this issue. The structure for the evening will also change with the opportunity for artists to split their performance into 2 brackets, with the interval being a great time for everyone to chat as well as grab a coffee (provided by LATC) or a bite to eat should they desire. Start time would be after 5:30pm with this being up to the artists. GPO see around 6:00pm as the optimum time. Following a brief introduction from the event coordinator, the artist/band will perform their sets of songs. They may like to speak about the message of particular songs, or what led them to write these songs. At the conclusion, there is a brief Q&A for those attending to ask questions of the artists. During the interval and after the performance people have an opportunity to speak personally with the artists/bands, as well as purchase their music and other items they have available for sale. There is no door charge, but those attending have the opportunity to support the artists through a freewill donation tin at the event. All the money received in this tin goes to the artists. All we can guarantee the artist/band by way of reimbursement, is the total placed in the donation tin as well as the offer of a night's accommodation with one of our event's supporters, if required. Leading up to the event, we promote it through social media (LATC’s and GPO’s Facebook). We will arrange promotion on Life 105.1 FM and other Bendigo local community radio stations. Interviews can be arranged with these radio stations if a suitable time can be found. We have available a Roland RD 800 Digital Stage Piano, Roland KC 550 180 watt 4 channel amplifier, 1 x Laney AH150 150 watt 5 channel amplifier, various Microphones with stands which are available for artists/bands to use, if this is their preference. Knut Winkler has made his Yamaha MX12CX mixer with Opera 512DX speakers available for our LATC events. Many thanks Knut. Artists/bands are also able to bring their own sound gear and equipment that they require. Interested artists/bands are requested to email the event co-ordinator links to current songs or mp3’s, or mail a copy of their current music. Further enquiries or questions are welcome. Our Story

Located in the centre of Victoria, Bendigo boomed after the discovery of gold in the 1850s. News of the discovery brought an influx of migrants from around the world. Within a year Bendigo was transformed from a sheep station to a major settlement and is now the fourth largest inland city in Australia. The Lutheran Church has a long and proud association with Bendigo, the first Church building having been established back in 1865. Live@thechapelbendigo is a live music event held in Bendigo Lutheran Church (94 Spring Gully Road, Bendigo) that introduces the message and music of mostly Australasian contemporary artists/bands, whose music is an expression of a Judeo-Christian faith. It is a ministry of the Bendigo Lutheran Church with the support of live@thechapel Australasia & Aussie Christian Gigs. The first Bendigo live music event will be held on the 7 August 2016. Situated in the leafy suburb of Spring Gully, Bethlehem Lutheran Church is a small, intimate venue which comfortably seats about 100 people. It therefore lends itself to a semi-acoustic or acoustic-style delivery. The evening usually commences around 5:00 - 5:30pm. Following a brief introduction from the event coordinator, the artist/band has up to an hour to perform a set of their songs. They may like to, speak about the message of particular songs or what led them to write these songs. At the conclusion there is a brief interview followed by light tea, which gives people an opportunity to speak personally with the artists/bands as well as purchase their music and other items they have available for sale. There is no door charge, but those attending have the opportunity to support the artists through a freewill offering box at the back of the church. All the money received in this box goes to the artists. All we can guarantee the artist/band by way of reimbursement, is the total freewill offering as well as the offer of a night's accommodation with one of our event's supporters, if required. Leading up to the event, we promote it by putting flyers on community notice boards. We also submit a press release about the artists/bands to the local newspapers, the interdenominational ministers network, as well as Bendigo’s local community radio station. We have a Roland RD 800 Digital Stage Piano, Roland KC 550 180 watt, 4 channel amplifier, 1 x Microphone with stand and a data projection system, which are available for artists/bands to use. Artists/bands are required to bring any other sound gear and equipment that they require. Interested artists/bands are requested to email the event co-ordinator links to current songs or mp3’s, or mail a copy of their current music. Further enquiries or questions are welcome.
