Barellan Beer Locally grown, community owned. A community funded project that continues to turn premium local Barellan grown barley into our own 'Golden Grain' Ale.

We all know that the Barellan District has a rich history of growing quality wheat and barley. In fact our proud farming tradition runs just as deep as our sporting, mateship and resilience qualities...and of course the ability to regularly enjoy a drink with our family and friends. It's time that we capture the best of Barellan and in what better way to do so, than in a beer! This project aims to

generate the funding necessary to produce a "home grown" community owned and inspired Barellan Beer. For too long now the hardship, toils and sacrfices made by our farmers fail to be recognised as our beloved 'Golden Grain' is shipped out of town as nothing but a faceless commodity. Its now time to capture the best, and turn our famous golden grain, into a famous golden ale. With the ever increasing market of craft beer and growing consumer trends such as the "paddock to plate" , supporting regional, artisan and locally grown produce and the craft beer revolution, Barellan's home grown Beer has the ability to be a major drawcard for our town and generate constant revenue raising capacity through direct sales to venues and events of "Our Beer".

On Friday 26 January, the community joins together to reflect, respect, and celebrate our nation and our people.

This Australia Day, we proudly announce Heather White as the local ambassador.

Heathers' remarkable journey began at the tender age of 17 when she selflessly volunteered as a lifeguard.

Her dedication and passion for her community led her to manage the Barellan Pool Complex for over five decades. Throughout her tenure, Heather played a pivotal role in spearheading and maintaining various upgrades to the facility, while imparting the invaluable skill of swimming to countless children, instilling confidence, and safety in future generations.

Her influence extends beyond the pool's edge, in 2018 Heather had the distinct honour of carrying the Queen's baton for the Commonwealth Games, a testament to her exceptional contributions and standing in the community. Additionally, she was awarded the Australian Sports Medal in 2000, further solidifying her legacy as a pillar of strength and inspiration to all.

Heather's mark in the community is a testament to her unwavering commitment and outstanding contributions, making her a shining example of the remarkable individuals who enrich our shire.

The Clydie bar will be open from 4pm-9pm on the Friday night, September 30 serving our famous Clydie port by the glass and equally famous Barellan Beer. Our very own Barellan Beer brewed from locally grown barley will be on tap at the Clydie bar on Friday evening and across the festival on October 1-2. Barellan Beer also features on tap at the Whitton Malt House if you fancy a day trip to enjoy the excellent menu, snacks, ice cream, and range of premium malt whiskey.
