🏆🍒 OF COURSE BLUEY WON PEOPLE’S CHOICE! 🍒🏆

Was there ever really any doubt? 😂
Ballina has spoken, and our very own Bluey, local icon, professional yarn-spinner and quite possibly one of the most loved blokes in Ballina has taken out the PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD at Stars of Ballina Dance for Cancer! 🌟🕺

If you know Bluey, you know why people love him. He’s the bloke behind the Cherry bar who knows everyone, has time for everyone and would do just about anything for anyone. Apparently that now includes dancing in front of half of Ballina. 😂

And just when we thought we’d seen everything… enter fellow Cherry superstar Kilarni, who made a spectacular appearance alongside Bluey and casually pulled out her incredible gymnastic skills! 🤸‍♀️🔥

Seriously… where have you two been hiding these talents?! 😂👏

But behind all the laughs, questionable dance moves and fabulous entertainment was something incredibly important.

Bluey did this because he genuinely wanted to make a difference.

He stepped well outside his comfort zone to help raise money for Cancer Council and support the many people and families in our community whose lives have been touched by cancer.

That’s the Bluey we all know and love. ❤️

A HUGE thank you to everyone who voted, donated, sponsored, shared, cheered and supported Bluey along the way, and congratulations to all the amazing Ballina Stars who together raised more than $150,000 for Cancer Council.

🌟 WE’RE SO PROUD OF YOU, JAMES! 🌟

A huge congratulations to our very own James Hancock, who was recognised with a 2026 Rotary Vocational Service Award on Thursday night. 👏❤️

Anyone who knows James knows just how deserving this is. He’s hardworking, caring, always willing to help and, quite simply, loved by everyone around him. We’re incredibly lucky to have him as part of the Cherry Street Sports team.

Congratulations also to all of this year’s award recipients for the amazing contribution they make to our community, and thank you to Rotary for recognising these wonderful people.
