Established in 1875, The Lake View Hotel has been an iconic part of Ballarat for generations. Once one of thirteen Hotels that lined the banks of Lake Wendouree, The Lake View Hotel is the only one that remains. As the decades have past, The Lake View Hotel has been a constant throughout the ups and downs of life around Lake Wendouree. Whilst respecting the significant heritage of this establishment, a complete renovation has delivered a stylish, contemporary venue to be enjoyed for many years ahead.

Hands up if chicken is your favourite meat 🙋 Because this one has your name all over it.

CHICKEN SCALLOPINI 🤌

There’s a lot going on underneath that creamy mushroom sauce. And we mean that in a very good way.

Pan-seared chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto and sage, served with herbed crushed potatoes and broccolini, then topped with a creamy mixed mushroom sauce.

It’s rich, comforting and once you’ve had it, it might become your usual.

Make a cracking coffee? Does sunrise make you smile? Get a kick out of making someone’s morning? We should chat.

We’re looking for an experienced barista to join the crew at The Lakey.

We have a LOT of regulars around here. They know our team by name, have their favourite spots to sit and, for some of them, we’ve already started making their coffee before they’ve even opened the front door. We’re looking for someone who’ll love getting to know them too.

You’ll need to know your way around a coffee machine, be great with people and be up for early mornings and weekends. Yes, your alarm clock will occasionally be deeply unpopular - but trust us, you’ll be very popular when you start caffeinating our customers.

ONE FATHER’S DAY AWAY FROM OPENING HIS OWN HARDWARE STORE? 🔨
We know a few dads who are.

And chocolates? C’mon. We know who’s really eating those. 😉

So, if you can’t make it to The Lakey for breakfast, lunch or dinner this Father’s Day, give Dad something to look forward to instead.

They say food is a love language, and we reckon a Lake View Hotel gift voucher says "Love you Dad" pretty well. 🍻

The hats are on, the meat tray is ready and tonight we’re raising a few dollars for the Lucas Fire Brigade.

Lucas Fire Brigade looks after one of Ballarat’s fastest-growing parts of town and supports emergency response across the wider community. So this week, every raffle ticket you grab helps us give a little something back to the people who are there when the community needs them.

Tuesday’s looking pretty good from where we’re sitting.

Our Seafood Plate Special is on every Tuesday - a very good excuse to skip cooking and let us take care of dinner. And if you needed another reason to come in, Happy Hour is on from 3:30–5pm.

In fact, Happy Hour is always a weekday thing at The Lakey, Monday to Friday, 3:30–5pm. We love to make week days easier.
