The big vote has occurred. It can be announced officially that Ballarat will host the 2014 Australian Pipe Band Championships. We would like to thank everyone for their support and look forward to seeing you back in 2014!

Ballarat's tender for the 2014 Australian Pipe Band Championships has been submitted. The successful promotor will be informed on June 2nd at the APBA/VHPBA branch meeting after all in attendance cast their vote! Will keep you all informed as to our progress.

We here at the Australian Pipe Band Championships could not possibly sum up the spirit of this event any better than Libby O'Brien has manage! How on earth she managed to get some of these people to do what they did is beyond us, but we love it!

National Pipe Band Championships

Day two of the Australian Pipe Band Championships has arrived. A huge day of medleys, which should be very entertaining, not to mention a display and the Drum Majors' contest which features not one, but two World and international Champions.

Weather update: it will be cloudy (but still watch the sunburn). There is a slight (but only slight) change of a shower this afternoon. A top temperature of 16 is expected (about the same as yesterday).

Please, everyone in attendance, take the time and make the effort to go to the food and wine area; sample some great food (including representation from some famous Ballarat food institutions) or try some local wine and boutique beer. Check out the crafts or let the kids enjoy the activities which are all free of charge. This aspect of the Championships was popular yesterday, but let's make it more so today!
