Well last Sunday was...Hot and heavy...and what a bloody turn out!
We have arrived at the second last week of our BBQ series and what a way to close out summer.
This week we are very grateful to welcome the inimitable Audrey Shaw, just weeks into opening her instant Carlton classic: the new sibling of her already iconic . A trained architecht, Audrey turned her attention to cooking where her career has taken her from London’s Michelin starred Ellory and The River Cafe to the peninsula’s where she cooked alongside Brigitte Hafner.
For those who have ventured to the beautiful Gore Street corner, or been lucky enough to secure a table at Bar Carnation, you will know what to expect come Sunday. For the uninitiated, expect beautiful produce-driven cooking framed by the fun of the BBQ’s Galore (RIP) Alter in the Cellars courtyard.
Joining Audrey is her and our great friend and one of Melbourne’s most sought after winemakers du jour, George McCulloch of .wine . Whether it be his expert handling of the violin, his thoughtful crafting of wines, application of expertise in fly fishing, or in this case, mastery of Home cookery, George applies himself 120% in every situation which makes him the perfect co-pilot for Audrey’s BBQ extravaganza.
We will, of course, be featuring George’s new GUM releases by the glass and we are so excited for this duo’s spread. See you at the cellars this Sunday!
