Well, that didn't take long. All seated tickets for Fruit Bats on Sat 15 August are now sold out.
Standing tickets are still available, but if the seated sellout tells you anything, it's that you shouldn't wait. This one is moving fast.

If you haven't already been paying attention to Eric D. Johnson, now is a very good time to start. His new album The Landfill drops on Merge Records in a couple of weeks, and everything we've heard suggests it is going to be something big. Come to the show ready.

We're in the middle of National Reconciliation Week 2026, and the theme is All In. It's a reminder that reconciliation is not something we observe from a distance. It asks action, every day, from all of us.
Music has always been one of the most powerful ways to listen. To really listen. So we've put together a playlist of First Nations artists whose voices have moved us, taught us, and reminded us why this work matters.
You'll find Archie Roach singing "We Won't Cry", the extraordinary Jem Cassar-Daley, and the brilliant Emma Donovan, alongside others who deserve your time and attention.
At The Sound Doctor, we are proud to have welcomed these and many other First Nations artists to the Anglesea Memorial Hall stage. It is something we are committed to continuing. Music builds connection. Connection builds understanding. And understanding is where reconciliation takes root.

Speaking on ticket sales, The Lazy Eyes show in September is moving fast as well. Have you heard their new single yet?

"How Does It Feel To Be In Love?" dropped last week and it's a heartmelting piano ballad that does exactly what it says on the tin. Drawing on Coldplay and Brian Wilson, it's a dreamy bittersweet song about longing for a feeling you can't quite put into words. The band describe it as one of the main pillars of the new album, and we can absolutely hear why.

Live music on Grand Final Eve? Yes please 🔥

The Lazy Eyes are heading to Anglesea on Fri 25 Sept as part of the tour for their long-awaited second album *Cheesy Love Songs*.

We first saw them in Darwin back in 2022 and have been hanging out for this next album ever since.

Expect huge psych jams, beautiful harmonies, fuzzy guitars and one of the best live bands in the country packed into the hall before the long weekend.

What a way to close the weekend.

Mama Kin Spender gave us an afternoon full of love, connection and community. There were tears, there was laughter. There was family, both on stage and in the room, with Mama Kin’s sisters and daughter singing at the close, and her 92-year-old mum witnessing it all. You could feel that sense of togetherness in every moment.

Gentle and fierce, always deeply emotional… and completely captivating. Songs that cut deep and brought everyone closer. If you were there you'll be talking about it tomorrow. If you weren't, make sure you don't miss out next time!

And the family theme started with the support act, Ben Birchall in trio format with his sister and cousin providing stunning harmonies. What a treat hearing songs from his upcoming recording.

Huge thanks to Elmo and Dan from Rolling Stages for the beautiful sound and lights, and to Patrick Callow for capturing it all.

And as alway, none of it happens without you. Thanks to every single person who came along, felt it, and made the gig what it was. ❤️
