The White Star Hotel Albany The historic White Star Hotel is under new management. Home of Ettie's beer. Our History. The White Hart Hotel, owned by Southern Brewing Co.

was one of Albany's first local breweries until it shut down in 1906. In 1909 the building was demolished for construction of a new two-story building. The White Star Hotel opened in 1910. The White Star Hotel's were aligned with the White Star line, one of the worlds largest shipping lines which included the famous 'Titanic'. Some of the White Stars ships that docked at the Albany jetty were the 'Medic' September 1912 and the 'Ceramic' August 1913. The 'Nomadic' is the only ship that still exists today. The White Star line in the mid 1930's which went on to build the queen Mary and QE11. Recently purchased by the team at Fun Street Pty Ptd there are some big changes underway.
