What’s new pussycat?

We may be gone – but you’re NOT forgotten! And while we’re getting closer to our big future home reveal, in truth, that won’t be happening til after the New Year. That said, we’ve been busy!

Since February 2019, this mural has been a gracious presence whose kind and gentle spirit has presided over Sparkke at the Whitmore.

Painted by the highly talented global artist (as a gift to us from the generous Minor family), this is our venue’s most photographed and shared image. She has been the backdrop of our lives for the last three years and we are so grateful to have had the time with her.

Like all of the murals (and art) in our venue, today is the last day that you’ll be able to enjoy her.

Scheduled to be painted over, we’re working hard with our friends to dismantle the mural panels so that we can take her with us – stand by for the final story on this 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼.

We’re open from midday today, October 2nd; the rooftop and the courtyard are both mighty fine at 24 degrees.

To make the celebration a little bit sweeter we’re serving up drinks specials: all Sparkke pints $7, Sangria jugs $20, G&Ts $8…..plus all of your old favourites from our bar team.

Did you know that we have over seven neon installations in our pub all created by our beloved and talented Abi Chow?

From the outset neon has been a part of our identity. We’ve always considered it a vehicle for colour and light; loving the halo it has cast over our local community inside and outside of the building.

We have over seven neon installations that designed in our venue. They will continue to cast their soft glow across us all until 4 October. After that…gone but hopefully not forgotten.

13 days and counting…did you know we have three large scale floral art installations in our venue?

On our countdown to October 4th (official term: venue handover date) we’ll be celebrating the many makers who have shared their passion & talents with us. We’ll celebrate artists, brewers, distillers, chefs, mixologists, furniture makers, designers, architects, builders and front of house legends….there’s a rich community of people who have made Sparkke at the Whitmore the iconic venue that it is today.

First, we’re taking you on a quick up close visual tour (swipe right) of the floral installations created by the very talented that grace our space.

Evie created three major installations in the venue that can be found in the bottle shop, in the stairwell, and in fare’s dining room. It’s the detail that takes your breath away….If you’ve never seen them be sure to drop by and enjoy.

We first opened the doors of Sparkke at the Whitmore on International Women’s Day in 2019. We worked hard with an amazing team of talented creatives to bring to life a venue that was visually stunning, welcoming and inclusive.

And now, for one last event, we'd like to welcome you for One Last Hurrah. October 1st from midday until late. Celebrating who we all are, makers, talented individuals, musicians, artists and creatives.

We are excited to celebrate with you, one last time.
