The Aglianico del Vulture Calice pours deep and moves smooth. Low tannin, dark cherry, a little pepper and spice on the finish. Easy drinking with intent.

Classic Italian wines with a modern twist.
Babo was started by Justin Bubb after nearly a decade cutting his teeth in Chianti, then chasing vintages across Piedmont, Veneto and Sicily. He came home wanting to shake the stuffy reputation off Italian wine and make something Australians could actually drink on a Tuesday. Great value, real character and zero pretension.

Thursday 3rd September we're pouring six of his wines across four courses, travelling the length of the country in a single sitting.

Bubbles on arrival to get things moving. Soave and Pinot Grigio through the first course, bright and food-friendly. Chianti Sangiovese and Langhe Nebbiolo for the second. Nero d'Avola to close it out, all the way down in Sicily.

Six wines. Four courses. One night that takes you from the north to the south without leaving Vardon Ave.

Giant Steps Masterclass. Eight wines, one incredible line-up, $60 per person. Monday 7th September, 6:30pm.

Named after John Coltrane's Giant Steps, a fitting title for a winery built on big leaps. Founder Phil Sexton left Margaret River chasing the perfect site for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and found it high in the Yarra Valley's Warramate Ranges in 1997. Winemaker Steve Flamsteed joined in 2003, and together they built a range shaped entirely around single vineyards, each one picked, made and bottled on its own terms.

We're tasting through Tarraford, Sexton, Applejack and Bastard Hill, one of the newest and most exciting sites in their stable. Same grapes, same hands, completely different wines. It's the clearest way to taste what a place actually does.

Comes with our delish Motherboard platters.
