Saturday 6/12/2025 Moon Jelly joins Ancient World for a very special pre-doof party!

Both upstairs and downstairs, selectors from 8pm-3am will include some of the artists playing at the festival, a couple fresh faces (to the Moon Jelly roster) and a few of our own organisers behind the decks.

We hope to see you there in celebration of the already thriving Moon Jelly community to collectively get excited for our very first new years celebration, hosted on unceded Kaurna country. With that in mind, entry is🪼absolutely free🪼for Moon Jelly ticket holders or $15 otherwise.

Small City return on 2nd November with our eighth party at Sugar Nightclub for 2024, bringing Code618 on support for the first time alongside a DJ set from Berlin house/trance tastemaker Olsvanger! His music, which mainly releases on imprints known for defining modern electronic music, is driving, atmospheric and sexy.
Over the last four years, many contemporary parties and festivals across the globe have become intimately acquainted with his immersive tracks and DJ sets. Through his label Tofistock, he continues to shape and morph his original sound that is helping to define the modern era of progressive house and trance.

This event takes place on unceded Kaurna Land, where sovereignty was never ceded.
Small City, Sugar and our artists pay respects to the indigenous community and the land which we dance upon.

This next edition of Fluorescent Fantasy at Sugar Nightclub sees the Small City team joining forces with Sunny & Glenn from Closer Record Store.

On the night, the duo behind Glenelg’s globally adored hangout joint will make an appearance in the booth, alongside FF residents Burden and Claude in b2b.

Small City and Closer’s favourite factor Fin Le Guin will be closing out the event from 3-5, paying homage to the collaboration.

The event is held on stolen Kaurna Land which Sovereignty was never ceded. Small City, Sugar and its artists pay respects to the indigenous people and its elders past, present and emerging.

When they started digging together in the late 2010s, on a frequent basis soulful deep house, techno, minimal and drum & bass YouTube and Soundcloud rips would sound through a pair of 5” Rokits via the use of a pirated version of Virtual DJ and a FB marketplace Pioneer Ergo.

Now in 2024 things are looking a bit more professional and we are excited to announce that this coming edition of Fluorescent Fantasy at Sugar Nightclub will see the Small City residents & dynamic duo Figures in Motion in the booth from start to finish. From 5” Rokits and a Pioneer Ergo to 1200s and a stellar F1 system tuned and installed by the legendary .audio - you could say things are a little different.

Definitely don’t miss out on this highly special occasion!

EVENT UPDATE:

Unfortunately due to major technical difficulties with their live setup we will not be able to host the full Menage squad for their live set this weekend(!).

This Friday, the 21st of June will 2/3 members of the trio - Eugene Pascal will be performing his live set that he most recently and successfully toured throughout Euro summer, followed by a DJ set from Dashiell who played 6 hours for us at Smokelovers back in October.

Small City in collaboration with Luke CVR are excited to present Tepid Rhythm’s first interstate showcase at Sugar nightclub on the 29th of June, 2024.

Bayu is a frequent guest of Naarm’s iconic Animalia & Techworld parties. Travelling over from Naarm and headlining the event, his broad musical scope results in regular features on global radio shows and repeat collaborations with Moopie’s A Colourful Storm record label.

For local support and opening up proceedings, the undeniably creative and talented duo Sink will be kicking off the night with their signature Deep House, Jazz Fusion and Electronic Beats. Pia and Brigitte showcase their sonic capabilities on a monthly broadcast with local record store Closer Closer Closer and their addition to the lineup will be kickstarted a week in advance when they preview some music on the June edition of Tepid Rhythm’s Area 3000 radio broadcast.

Tepid Rhythm’s host Luke CVR will be pulling the curtains with his signature blend of all things deep, soulful & electronic as we see an end to the first of many future Tepid Rhythm showcases in Adelaide.

Tepid Rhythm, Small City and Sugar nightclub acknowledge the land this event operates on is stolen. Prepare to enter the rolling world of the three M’s - Menage (live), Mikayla and Mads, with Kimbo and Research Project kicking things off for this month’s edition of Fluorescent Fantasy.

Kimbo is well-known as the host of ‘Jazz ‘n’ Breaks’ on Duck! Radio, a show blending hip-hop, jungle, jazz, tech house & breakbeat.

Live & direct from Naarm’s underground deep house scene, the trio of Dashiell, Sam Brickel & Eugene Pascal each bring a dynamic list of influences to Menage, from early 90s UK house and breakbeats to rolling acid lines, resulting in deep, burning and encapsulating performances. Menage will be both performing their live set and DJing.

No stranger to rolling journeys, Mikayla will join Fluorescent’s favourite Mads for the late hours, as they deconstruct the wobbly, acidic house built up over the course of the evening.

This edition of Fluorescent will most definitely be an open-to-close affair for any patron who might prefer only the best original flavours of deep house, UK garage and tech house.

Pioneer of the modern euphoric deep house, trance & breaks genre, Bliss Inc.’s crunchy breakbeats, glistening arpeggios and bleepy rave magic have successfully conquered time since they first starting releasing in 2019.

Bliss Inc’s most recent release is a mind-altering journey. While ‘Subaquatic’ and ‘Delusion’ gently re-invite the listener back into the artist’s familiar bubbly, celestial world, ‘Higher, Vision’ & ‘Mind 2 Mind’ hold the special keys to a twisted dancefloor euphoria known only to the most elusive & intimate underground parties.

Along with her party ‘GLOSS’, Zoe G is a local DJ and tastemaker striving to introduce the non-binary and feminine communities that surround her to the uplifting and unifying energy of progressive house, trance and acid. Zoe’s purposeful events have succeeded in instigating an inclusive and powerful space during the short span of their existence, proving they’re here to stay.

Active since the late 2010s, producer and DJ Research Project’s club sets are fuelled by a passionate desire to translate their own experiences on the dancefloor through their growing repertoire of explosive heaters, locked grooves and mind-bending moments. Over the course of four hours, they’ll build the club’s velocity with a dynamic and rising momentum in preparation for the peak of the night.

Come early and stay late to absorb the full experience as we collectively transform Sugar into a dim and heaving dance party full of high energy peaks, grooving valleys and unforgettable moments with our three special guests.
