Cozy season is softly knocking on the door.

Sheepskins on chairs, temperatures gently dropping day by day, and after the most beautiful summer, we’re so excited to settle into a softer rhythm.

What a summer! We’re grateful for the many sweet sundeck evenings, BBQs by the fire, Gin Wiese with friends, art weekends & morning yoga out on the terrace. A season full of laughter, mountain magic, and endless golden hours that made us fall in love with summer all over again.

And now? September is here.
The rhythm softens, the valley slows. Al fresco breakfasts. Long hikes high up in . Evenings cozying up by the fire as the air turns crisp and cool.

A new season of stillness, of depth, of beauty begins.

Sometimes you just need to hike away from it all.

Up into the mountains. Thoughts getting quieter with every step. Until there’s nothing much around but wildflower meadows, mountain streams, big skies ~ and the promise of something homemade waiting at the next hut.

A few of our favorite Hiking Trails & Treats around Bad Gastein:

• Poserhöhe: hike up for Kaiserschmarrn with one of the best views back over Bad Gastein

• Himmelwand Hut: deep in the beautiful Kötschach Valley for delicious homemade Strudel 

• Veitbauernalm: high up in Sportgastein aka for freshly made Bauernkrapfen.

Walk far. Eat well. Breathe deeply.
And for a little while, let the rest of the world carry on without you.

There it is! A first whisper of fall in the air. Can you feel it, too?

Here in Bad Gastein, the sun still warm. The valley lush and green. But the air has turned a little cooler. Mornings feel crisper. Evenings ask for another layer.

And, for now, we’re holding onto our favorite late-summer rituals:

Friday BBQs by the fire.
Al fresco movie nights under the stars.
Late evenings on the sundeck while the light softly disappears behind the mountains.

As we’re soaking up high summer, we’re just sooo grateful.

For the many late sundeck evenings, BBQ Fridays by the fire, a spritzer with old and new friends, art all around, morning yoga out on the terrace & one truly magical eclipse under the Bad Gastein sky.

A week full of endless golden hours and shooting stars that made us fall in love with summer all over again.

Here’s to high summer. And a little more of it, please.
