๐ŸŽค Keynote Speaker: Marius Boshoff

We are excited to announce our first keynote speaker for the upcoming Table Grape Conference, hosted by SASEV and SATI.

Marius is a longstanding leader in South Africaโ€™s crop protection industry. With more than three decades of experience in agriculture, including over 25 years dedicated to crop protection, he has built extensive expertise in product stewardship, regulatory engagement, and industry collaboration.

Throughout his career, he has worked closely with growers, agronomists, regulators, and industry organisations to promote responsible and sustainable use of crop protection technologies. He has also been actively involved in the development and evolution of CropLife South Africa, contributing to its transition from AVCASA into the national body that represents suppliers and distributors of crop protection products today.

His experience spans regulatory processes, stewardship programmes and stakeholder engagement across the agricultural value chain. Through his work at Villa Crop Protection, he continues to advocate for science-based crop protection, sustainable production practices, and strong collaboration within the agricultural sector.

We look forward to hearing his insights and perspectives at the conference.

We are excited to welcome Villa Crop Protection as the Presenting Partner of the Table Grape Conference 2026, hosted by South African Society for Enology and Viticulture and SATI.

Shaping South Africaโ€™s agricultural future, together with growers
Villa Crop Protection, as a division of WinField United South Africa, was founded with a clear ambition: to provide South African growers with reliable, cost-effective, and innovative crop protection solutions.

For Villa Crop Protection, crop protection is about much more than products. It is about people, science, systems, scale, and trust. It is about understanding the realities growers face every day and standing alongside them with practical solutions.

The companyโ€™s purpose is simple: to help growers maximise yields, optimise resources, and build sustainable farming operations for future generations. Villa Crop Protection achieves this by working at the intersection of proven science and data-driven agricultural insight, with just enough personality to show that serious farming solutions do not have to come without a bit of flair.

Different formulations of entomopathogenic nematodes for the control of false codling moth.

Authors: S. Schlesinger, M.D. Dunn, C. Ritter, B. Motloung, B. Kluperman & A.P. Malan

The soil-dwelling stages of false codling moth are currently not targeted in South African vineyards. This study showed that Steinernema yirgalemense and Heterorhabditis bacteriophora, formulated in carboxymethylcellulose and a novel nanofibril gel, achieved more than 90% infection of FCM larvae after 48 hours in orchard soil.
