About us
The Cherrytree is a family run pub in the heart of Walkinstown, originally established in 1953 as part of the emergent estates of Dublin at the time. The McGeough family have been behind the bar since 1979, when Ted McGeough took over the O'Mearas pub in Parkgate St. Since then the family business has grown strong, taking over the Cherrytree in 1998 from Murtagh Properties, this marked the passing over of Dublins last Guinness Brewery pub. It remains the families intention to uphold and maintain the great Guinness traditions. You will now find Gerry and Austin McGeough and their team behind the bar waiting to serve you. While opening during the day and catering for lunches and funerals our aim is to provide a platform for your good night out. Be it a vibrant 21st, a laid back 30th, a salsa fueled 40th, or that golden anniversary.

A new chapter for The Cherrytree 🍻❤️

Fresh look, same local, same heart.

We’re delighted to finally show off the new space and see it filled with life again. Here’s to plenty of pints, laughs and new memories in the years ahead — while keeping all the history that made this place what it is.

Welcome to the new Cherrytree. ✨

What a first weekend back 🍻

A huge thanks to everyone who called in to see the newly renovated Cherrytree and helped make it such a brilliant few days.

Plenty of familiar faces, plenty of pints, and a very busy bar — exactly how we like it.

And after all that, a well-earned after-work pint for the best team in Walkinstown ❤️

Best of luck to everyone taking on the Dublin Marathon tomorrow! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️👏

And for anyone passing The Cherrytree along the way… surely a quick pint counts as carb loading?

We’ll be cheering you on from the sidelines — and if 42.2km starts feeling a bit ambitious, we do make a very convincing unofficial halfway stop. Whether it's Brother Coffee or a refreshing pint.

Good luck to all the runners! 💪

Some sneaks… 🥸

Business as usual upstairs tonight 🙌🍻
The wonderful Niamh Mc is on, bringing the tunes while we mop the floors, and push the chairs in downstairs..

Come up, grab a drink with a mate; or a few, because who knows, this may just be the last weekend upstairs!! 🎶🍺

A few finishing touches, along with a new TV for the bar supplied by none other than Derek!!

It’s looking amazing!!

It surely can’t be much longer now… 👀🍻
It's just down to tightening a few screws, and dusting off the new lamps.

You can almost feel the exitement!! Are we ready for it Walkinstown?
