Isle of South Uist Folk Club

Isle of South Uist Folk Club The Isle of South Uist Folk Club hosts a monthly evening of live music in the heart of the alluring Western Isles. Welcome to the Isle of South Uist Folk Club.

The club promotes top quality folk/traiditonal music in an intimate setting here in the Western Isles. " The South Uist Folk Club was a wonderful experience for myself and guitarist Finlay Wells. I loved the feeling of coming into a brand-new venture, but one that works hard to make itself a part of the existing musical landscape of the South Uist community. I wasn't sure what to expect of a Frida

y night in February, but the 70-strong crowd was a lovely result, and we loved the opportunity of singing and playing a wide range of original and traditional songs to an appreciative and knowledgeable island audience." - Mary Ann Kennedy

"Thanks to Cameron and all at the South Uist Folk Club. We had a great evening of music and song and felt very welcome and taken care of. This club is very important as part of the folk club circuit in Scotland and we wish you all the very best in the coming years." - Brian o hEadhra & Fiona MacKenzie

Everyone is welcome the cosy evenings of captivating, live traditional/folk music that lie ahead!

Unfortunately the Isle of South Uist Folk Club isn't running at the moment, but we'd love to return at some point in the future.

Here is a memory from the 10th February 2017. Griogair Labhruidh performing to an intimate South Uist audience in the Lochboisdale Hotel, a lovely evening with a fantastic sunset.

Thanks to the James Duncan MacKenzie Trio and Peach/Skeoch, the music was lovely. This will be the last folk club for a wee while. However stay tuned for photos from Thursday night!
