On August 14th, I went to the Funpet hospital in District 2 Ho Chi Minh city to transfer my puppy, who had just been rescued and admitted the previous afternoon on August 13th.
I explained to the veterinarian at the Funpet hospital that I was about to fly back to Singapore immediately and I hoped they could transfer my puppy with all the medical records I already had, so that the volunteers in District 2 could visit and give my puppy affection. However, they insisted that the puppy had to undergo full medical re-examination and testing, even though my puppy's health was already very fragile at the time, and I did not have the time to go through the additional procedures again. My wish was for my puppy to be in absolutely safe hands before I could leave with peace of mind. They refused to help unless I agreed to the full re-examination, even though the Pethealth hospital in Go Vap is a very reliable place with good reviews for cat treatment.
I said I would sponsor all the fees until my puppy fully recovered, and the costs they proposed were not low. What I hoped for from them was to not put my puppy through additional pain and blood loss, given my puppy's poor health condition. But it seems the veterinary ethics were lacking, as no matter how I explained the situation, they were only interested in the initial fees and disregarded the puppy's wellbeing in the long run. I was willing to cover all expenses just to give my puppy another chance at life and love. I would advise other pet owners to be cautious with this hospital.
