Happy Sunday God is Good!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🏆
BIG NEWS FOR DREAM IMAGE PAINT — I'VE ALWAYS HAD MY EYE ON LARGE COMMERCIAL AND RETAIL PAINTING NATIONWIDE, AND NOW I'M PUTTING A PLAN IN MOTION.
Residential Painting in the local area is still my baby.
That’s what built Dream Image Paint, and that’s still a huge part of who we are.
But I’m adding another lane.
I’ve always wanted to see how far I could take this company, and large commercial and retail painting has been something I’ve had my eye on for a long time.
Now I’m putting myself in a position to learn that industry from the inside, build relationships, understand how these operations work and create opportunities for
Dream Image Paint down the road.
There’s a reason I’m willing to make this move.
9-TO-5 vs. SMALL BUSINESS OWNER
A traditional 9-to-5 comes with some real advantages:
Steady paycheck.Set schedule.
PTO.
Health insurance.
Retirement benefits.
Paid holidays.
Paid training and certifications.
Education assistance.
Opportunities for promotions and advancement.
Sometimes bonuses and other incentives.
And when you clock out you can actually Clock out mentally!
Those are real benefits, and I’m not going to pretend they aren’t.
But there’s another side to it.
Someone else controls the schedule.Someone else decides where and how you work.
Your income can have a ceiling.Your advancement depends on the opportunities someone else creates. And at the end of the day, you’re helping build someone else’s company.
Owning a small business is almost the complete opposite.
You have ownership.
You have independence.
You have control over the direction.
Your earning potential isn’t tied to an hourly wage.
You build something that belongs to you.
You create your own opportunities.
But that freedom comes with trade-offs.
No guaranteed paycheck.
No PTO.
No employer-paid insurance.
No paid holidays.
No guaranteed schedule.
When something goes wrong, you’re the one responsible for fixing it.
And there’s no real clocking out.
Any random person can go on a Facebook group and start slaughtering your name and reputation just out of spite without actually having to prove it (even though this always just gives me fuel to the fire)
Right now, one of the biggest trade-offs I’m making is my nights.
I’m giving up nights now to build another opportunity for the future.
And the path I’m heading down on the commercial side means getting back to training people, building a team and delegating the work, while I handle the residential work the way it should be done — as an owner-operator.
That’s part of growing.
I passed the background check.
I passed the drug test.
I got hired.
Sounds simple.
But there was a time when that wasn’t the case for me.
And at a time when you see people posting every day that they can’t find employment, can’t get hired, or can’t get their foot in the door, I don’t take for granted that I can.
That’s a big part of why Dream Image Paint exists today.
When the traditional employment path wasn’t an option, I had to create my own.
So I did.
I built a company.
After dominating for 10+years in the local area as a small business owner, I’m still building it.
And now I’m adding another opportunity.
I’m learning.
I’m building relationships.
I’m gaining experience.
I’m expanding the vision.
I’m putting my apples in both baskets.
I’m tapping back into my past roots of managing Sysco Distribution in Ocoee. Which was something I also enjoyed doing.
And as I work to grow the commercial side, it gives me the opportunity to be more selective with the residential work I take on — picking the best jobs and, just as importantly, the best customers.
The kind of customer who says:
“Instead of sending just the deposit, I went ahead and paid you in full. See you Monday.”
Customers who know the value of good work, trust who they’re hiring, and stand behind you.
I’m lucky to have those kind of customers.
People can say whatever they want about me or my company. They can question my decisions.
But they can’t say I don’t work for my dollar.🇺🇸

Excited to Gaining of Knowledge!
