Mild ale in the fermenter. Ready in about 2 weeks.

Operations have been slow lately. No new beers to report. The last batch was from July of last year. It's possible that it's still good. I may have to try some out. This training for marathons thing doesn't mix well with Homebrew beer.

Up for tomorrow's brew calendar: 10 gallons of Belgian Dubbel all grain with candi syrup. About 7%ABV when the Belgian Abbey yeast is done with it in a week or so.

10.5 lbs of (mostly) domestic 2 row malted barley snuggled down at 152° for an hour-long nap. When it's done, it'll be an Irish Red Ale.

Thoughts from the beer sommelier.

Time to keg the chocolate peanut butter stout from this Summer - I hope it's settled enough and has mellowed a bit - I have to admit the cocoa was a bit overpowering.

Said goodbye to the last of the Schwarz (black lager) last night - one of my all-time favorites.

Oktoberfest (store bought)
Imperial Russian Stout (homemade - should be about perfect this fall/winter at one year old since bottling.
Sour Brown (homemade)

Need to start thinking about brewing a few more, maybe a winter ale? I've got a Rye IPA, a Copper Ale, an Irish Red - all grain kits, all 5 gals each....long day for 2, impossible day for 3 batches....

I hereby declare September 20 - October 12 Germanic Heritage Month(ish). Come out and celebrate at the Bier Garden this weekend. I have about a half dozen different beers on tap and bottles of wine ready to serve.
