WVFD Angel Fund We are honored to announce the 2025 Angel Fund recipient: Abigail Azcarate. Abigail is a 32-year-old sister of an active West Valley firefighter Joanna Munoz.

Earlier this year, she was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC). The oath of service every public servant has taken has been to help others in their most vulnerable moments and emergency situations. It's that oath that in great part dictates the purpose, and the values of the West Valley Fire Department. It's with this spirit that WVFD looks forward to an event to help someone in ou

r community, and we're looking for your help in doing so. In order to achieve our fund raising goals for the 3rd Annual WVFD Angel Fund, the WVFD will be hosting a large fundraiser Carnival/Car Show. The event will be held on Sepatember 8th & 9th. The event will be aimed at bringing in community members to enjoy a weekend filled with carnival style activities. There will be Rides, Food, Music, Games, Car Show, Firefighter Rope Rappeling and a Firefighter Combat Challenge!!!! What we need are donations to help make this possible. We are looking for anything from food and drinks, to venders and booths of games and events. Any money made at your booth is yours to keep. Monitary donations are also greatly solicited. We also need people to enter their Classic Cars, Low Riders, Hot Rods, Euro Cars, Mini Trucks, 4x4's, Full Size Trucks, Motor Cycles and Bicycles into the car show and come to have fun with all the family. Please pass the word on to your friends and family. To make a donation or for more information, please contact Captain Martin Lerma. We look forward to working with you in giving a family a helping hand.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd places will be awarded
Car Entry ($20 per motor vehicle-$10 per bicycle)
Firefighter Combat Challenge ($5 per person-$20 per team of up to 5 members)
Booth Space ($50 Food, Games, Rides and any merchandise you want to sell. NO BEER)

At the 2023 Angel Fund, we had the honor of hosting Kayla Gomez, El Paso’s own Pan Am Gold Medalist, 18x National Champion, 2x Ringside World Champion, and 9x International Champion.

She represented Team USA since 2018 and, shortly after, went on to become the 2024 National Golden Gloves 119 lb Champion. We’re grateful she was part of the 2023 event! 💪🔥
