I am devestated! I just found out that the township lady went to the Newell Bar last night to inform everyone that they will be opening The Vale Bar next week and they will be running it. They lied to me via their final text in the middle of May a couple weeks ago before sending that rescind letter, saying that the building needed too much work to be leased out. But what really upset me was that they are saying I was spreading rumors that they were going to have me have patrons take off their spurs! Defamation? I don't do business based on rumors and told them that straight off at the last meeting, at the end of april when they started the meeting wanting to talk about rumors (and how we need better communication- I said I get back to you immedialtely for every call, text or e-mail. She said "no you don't, you didn't reply to my last 2 texts". I asked her what number they were sent to and she sent them to one number off my number. She laughed and said "oh I wonder what they thought of it". There was a nice elderly couple there, they know what was said). After all the work I did and all the hoops I jumped through that they demanded. Well I don't engage in rumors so I will let people know what I have actually gone through with them. I'll post as I think of them but I am a bit upset right now. To clear up that "spurs" rumour; when we toured the building a couple of months ago one of them said to me, "we just redid the floors so you will have to make sure nobody wears spurs in here". We get to the meeting and one says, "We hear rumors you're going to make people take off their spurs?" I look to the one who told me that and said, "you're the one that said that." To which she answered she was just joking. Then why is it being brought up from your fellow board members? They also told me that dogs would not be allowed, I would have to post a sign, I could not serve food, only gas station sandwich's, I'd have to get security camera's and allow them access over my internet. That's just a sample. In the contract, it say's they can access my books at any time, business AND personal, and that I would be responsible for All Major Repairs to the building. I would have to pay all utilities and the bathrooms are included in the lease, but when they had an event in the gym they would use my facilities and I would not be compensated for the added heating. I better quit for now. :(
