Armistice Brewing Company makes the kind of beer that brings people together, whether they be friends, strangers, or even enemies. We believe that at its best, beer makes it easier to have a conversation with someone who you might not otherwise. Our public house in Richmond, CA is not far from the Kaiser shipyards, where Rosie's of all colors and backgrounds collaborated to build the ships that would bring World War II to a close. We like to think that we're brewing beer with the same spirit of peace and collaboration, and we invite everyone to come enjoy a pint with us. We decided to go small and open our own taproom because we want to ensure that our beer is served the way it was intended -- at peak freshness, right from the source, and in the kind of variety that we appreciate. We brew in very small batches, which allows us to experiment with ingredients that are both cutting edge and traditional, and because our taps turn-over fast, we'll always have something new for you to try. As homebrewers, we've won many awards for a diverse range of styles, and we'll continue to brew with that kind of variety at Armistice -- everything from aggressive new-world IPAs, crisp and malty German-style lagers, subtle English bitters, complex sours, nuanced barrel-aged beers, and inventive beers that transcend style boundaries and traditions. We're such a small, sibling-run operation that you'll often find our owner-brewers tending bar. We love talking about and getting feedback on the beers, so come on down and share a pint with us.

While our neighbors in Napa are busy harvesting grapes, we make a little harvest pilgrimage of our own.

Every year, we head north to Yakima Valley to select the hops we’ll be brewing with for the year ahead. Director of Brewing Gregory and Lead Brewer Will spent a few days combing through copious lots of Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, El Dorado, Chinook, and Strata—rubbing, smelling, comparing, taking notes, and probably losing the ability to smell anything else by the end of the day.

This year was a particularly good one. Overall hop quality was outstanding, with a few lots that really jumped off the table.

A Citra lot from Coleman Farms was one of the biggest standouts, with incredibly clean notes of Valencia orange, lemon rind, and overripe grapefruit. We also found some absolutely ridiculous Strata that smells like pure strawberry. Expect to see plenty of both making their way into b**rs over the next year.

Some of the hops we selected will be processed into traditional T90 pellets, while others will become Cryo. Cryo hops are essentially a concentrated version of the hop, separating out more of the good aromatic lupulin and leaving behind much of the leafy plant material. Translation: more hop aroma and flavor with less green stuff in the tank.

A huge thank you to Yakima Chief and Hollingbery for hosting us, putting an unreasonable number of hop lots in front of us, and helping us lock in another year’s worth of great ingredients.

Now we just have to turn them into b**r.

THE AFTERFEST IS THIS SATURDAY 🍺

If you missed the original announcement: we’re throwing our Oktoberfest party at BOTH Armistice taprooms this Saturday, September 26.

We’ll have at least four la**rs on tap, and for the occasion, every single one will be available by the liter.

We’ve also got some extremely serious competition lined up, including a pretzel eating contest and our stein holding competition. Start training now. Or don’t. That may honestly be funnier.

And because nobody should be attempting any of this on an empty stomach, Butter’s Burgers will be cooking up some tasty Bavarian-inspired treats for the day.

First up: GO SHWARTY! 🖤🍺

Yeah, yeah… we know. We released this b**r on draft a couple weeks ago.

BUT THE CANS ARE FINALLY HERE.

Go Shwarty! is our 5.0% Schwarzbier brewed with Continental malts & hops — dark, roasty, crisp, clean, and way easier-drinking than its color would have you believe.

In da clubs of Bavaria, we can only assume they’re bouncing around to oompah covers of 50 Cent while clutching steins of black l***r.

And if they aren’t… they should be.

Which brings us to an important reminder:
