THE MEANING BEHIND MEMORIAL DAY
Memorial Day is a national day of remembrance to specifically honor those in the military who made the ultimate sacrifice and died serving our country. It was first observed in 1868 to commemorate the sacrifices of the Civil War soldiers. It then became an official Federal holiday in 1971. It differs from Veteran’s Day, which honors ALL who have served in the armed forces — living, retired, killed in action, and deceased.

May we continue to appreciate all who put themselves in harm’s way so we may experience safety, peace, and freedom. On behalf of everyone at P11, have a safe and meaningful Memorial Day Weekend.
