Dads can struggle quietly, too.

The pressure to provide.
The fear of not doing enough.
The exhaustion nobody sees.
The guilt that can come with needing support.

Perinatal mental health does not only affect moms. Dads and partners can experience anxiety, depression, overwhelm, irritability, disconnection, and burnout during pregnancy and postpartum, even when everything looks “fine” from the outside.

Check in on the dads, partners, and support people in your life. Ask how they’re really doing. Remind them they do not have to carry it alone.

Support is not weakness. It is part of showing up.

If you or someone you love is struggling during pregnancy or postpartum, WHI is here to help.

For many kids who rely on school meals, summer can be one of the hungriest times of year when classes are out, and regular access to food disappears.

Some school districts and community centers are offering summer meals to combat that hunger.

Kindness is not just something children “pick up.”
It’s something we model, practice, name, and nurture in the small moments of everyday life.

When we teach children to notice who is left out, who is struggling, who feels unseen, we are helping them build empathy, compassion, and courage.

Because one small act of kindness can change the way another child sees themselves.

And sometimes, walking beside someone is exactly what helps them feel like they belong. 🌿

Women’s health is layered.

It can be mental health, postpartum support, ADHD support, anxiety, parenting stress, identity, healing, and learning how to feel like yourself again.

At Women’s Health Innovations of Arizona, we believe support should meet women and families in the real moments they are carrying. You do not have to carry it all alone.

Dearest parents, basic hygiene and adult responsibilities aren't breaks or self care.

Both parents deserve breaks, no shade to dads here. But society tends to create a culture where women are expected to see showering and grocery shopping as breaks.

Women, like everyone, deserve support and encouragement to care for themselves. It's cliche, but it's true. You can't pour from an empty cup.

Going to work. Showers. Groceries. Those aren't true breaks that allow for restorative rest and fulfilling the human need to create and enjoy.

Sit with coffee on the patio when someone else is answering the littles shouting for a snack.

Take a class. Paint. Go on the retreat. Get the massage. Read the book. Sculpt. Write.

Yes, there are seasons where self-care comes in small moments between breastfeeding and 12 diapers a day. But there are seasons you truly can and should take the occasional hours and even the occasional day or days.

👇🏽 What's your favorite type of self-care?
