People always ask how we manage to run shows and make noise in our backyard without the neighborhood shutting us down.
The real answer? Community. We are so lucky to be surrounded by neighbors who are supportive of us that we also want to support.
Huge shoutout to our neighbor Laura Wingler , who is stepping up and putting in the real work for our local kids and schools. Having thoughtful people who genuinely care about the town makes spaces like this possible.

At the end of summer we had the absolute pleasure of having Ivory Layne here on our “stage”. It was a perfect Sunday night of a stripped-down Ivory set on keys and guitar, accompanied by heart-warming and hilarious stories. After, everyone stayed and hung out - no separation between artist and fans. One of the most memorable nights in shed history for sure! Tonight, we’re seeing Ivory at City Winery as she opens for Andrew McMahon ! So fitting because we fell in love with Ivory years ago through Andrew’s solo tour and the songs she collaborated with him on. A few days after our show here, we received this handwritten postcard from Ivory that we wanted to share. The southern hospitality is real and we’re just so thankful she trusted a spot called the kill shed and made the trek. Stoked to see her tonight, at a table in the front and enjoy her set which is sure to be another gem. If you haven’t listened to Ivory yet, go check her out now. We promise you’ll walk away a diehard fan and relate to her music in many ways! PS Ivory - we’ll definitely have some pizza at the table, so if you get hungry mid-set, feel free to grab a bite!

Last night was perfect. First basement show here at the shed and we cannot thank Brian Logan Dales and PlayHouse enough for trusting us to open our space to Brian and his fans. Classic singalongs, stories, deep cuts, stuff we can never repeat, you just had to be here 😉 and even some Bruce! Thank you all for coming! Brian - we’re ready for your residency here when you join us on the east coast! Here are a few pics that Melanie Schantz snapped!

MAYBE TONIGHT… you’ll join us for our first basement show at the kill shed! Mother Nature is not great today, so we’re bringing the Brian Logan Dales show into the basement for an intimate unplugged set. So stoked for this. Just a friendly reminder that two weeks from today we have Brian Logan Dales HERE on his “Make Yourself at Home” tour! This intimate evening will include songs and stories from The Summer Set , solo material, his musical Better Days and we’ll see what else! 50 people, outside at our place on a perfect fall evening (with a backup of indoors weather permitting). This tour is happening in partnership with PlayHouse (the absolute best platform for DIY shows like this). You may have seen this on our stories but on Sunday, October 11, we’re having Brian Logan Dales over our place for an evening of songs and stories! Been huge fans of Brian’s work and have seen him numerous times live. To have him here in Toms River for a “make yourself at home” style show is just incredible.
