Nashvilles Saloon is now closed.

I’ve spent the last few days trying to muster up the strength to make this post and the words to make it make sense.

To say I’m devastated is a huge understatement. Im heartbroken and so is my daughter as this also affets her boutique that we were building. It was so much more than just a bar.!

So many of us put every ounce of our being into making this place a success. Hundreds upon hundreds of man hours were invested in a dream to bring the honey tonk vibes of Nashville to Toledo Ohio. We had a plan, we pivoted where needed and we pushed forward. We all knew that with all the summertime activities and outdoor patios that we would just coast through the summer, build the business, establish our regulars and continue to make improvements on the premises and then thrive when the fall and colder weather set in.

In the end the owner held all the cards and refused to allow me to properly run the business. Most of the employees including myself hadn’t received a paycheck since opening and I could not in good faith ask anyone to continue to work without being paid. Maybe there’s a chance that this gets resolved and we can reopen the doors but with the track record of that location I think it’s highly unlikely.

The moral to the story is make sure you have everything in writing, don’t count on a 35 year friendship as the backbone to any agreement and when someone says “I will take care of you” they probably won’t.
