I’ve been quietly making a lifestyle change over the past couple of months that makes me feel so good. I am transitioning my home and my life choices to a completely cruelty free home. The recent news of the Ridgeland Farm beagles has weighed so heavy on me regarding animal testing and the life of these animals. It’s inconvenient to know about these things, but I feel compelled to look at what is happening and make a change - no matter how small. It feels overwhelming and almost impossible to enact change by myself, but I keep hearing the hearing the words “Be the Change” and hold them like a mantra. I’ve even been hesitant to share here, but I want to be an advocate for the beings that do not have a voice. It is easier to not know. With knowledge comes responsibility. I choose cruelty free. I am choosing to be an advocate.

What I really want to share is the joy and lightness I have found every single time I find a product that is cruelty free. I am slowly replacing everything - cleaning products, makeup, dental floss, — everything. No matter what it is, I research before I buy. I am feeling so good about the change I am making in my life and hopefully it will have a larger impact. So I am sharing today. I hope it inspires you. It’s easier than you think.

Beyond grateful for .hart.5 and for this Life! This past weekend we celebrated the graduation of a beautiful group of teachers. I am so proud of every single one of them. They’re ready to fly!

I’m also proud of us - for showing up and continuing to dig deeper, to seek new inspiration, to be open to new ways of seeing. We are never standing still. We are always evolving.

I also know that reaching a goal places me in the most potent space in between. I’m soaking in the space and can’t wait to be inspired for what’s next.

Grateful for every moment.

Trying to stay warm. No power since 5:30am. Our neighborhood is littered with fallen trees Absolutely unreal. Taking care of each other. It’s going to be a cold night. Everyone take care.

It’s been exactly a year since I lost my Mom. Today has been about presence. I woke up in one of my favorite places to watch the sun rise. I spent the day thinking of her and noticing all the little signs. It was a memorable day. I went to another favorite spot to watch the sun set over the ocean. I miss her every day. She made our family and brought us together in the end. It’s been a good day. A sad day. A day to be grateful and to look forward to seeing her again one day. I love you Mom.
