✨ Not all natural lashes behave the same… and lash porosity can be something you are not taking in to consideration
Just like the hair on our head, natural lashes have different levels of porosity, meaning they absorb moisture and adhesive differently. If every client receives the exact same prep routine, retention results can become inconsistent.

💎 Low Porosity Lashes:
Smooth, glossy, and tightly sealed cuticles make it difficult for adhesive to grip properly. These lashes often need additional prep to create the ideal bonding surface.
🌿 Medium Porosity Lashes:
The dream lashes! They absorb moisture evenly and typically provide the most predictable retention.
✨ High Porosity Lashes:
These lashes have more open cuticles and absorb moisture quickly, causing adhesive to cure faster. Proper preparation and efficient application are key to preventing brittle bonds.
If your retention changes from client to client, lash porosity might be the reason.
Understanding lash porosity allows you to customize your prep, adhesive selection, and technique for each client—because retention isn’t one-size-fits-all.
Great retention starts with understanding the natural lash and how it could behave 🤍
