The combination of a barnstorming gig by last night and an epic 60th birthday celebration for Tam has led to barely a single creature stirring up on the lovely Blackdown Hills this afternoon. But what a great time we had last night. We were treated to great live music set, with all the classics and covers of the likes of The Vaccines and Wet Leg. We cannot wait to welcome the band back. Thank you so much guys🎸🫡🍺🍻☀️🎉🍾

Timebomz will be back and they will soundtracking our Friday evening. Raucous rock and pop covers through several decades, they are sure to get you up on the dance floor. The last time the played up here, I seem to recall mostly middle-aged people, including me, attempting to roll back the years and thrash an sway away on the dance floor, seemingly believing we were young again. But, what I think it all resulted in was a lot of sore hips, backs and heads in the morning. A great evening of entertainment not to be missed 😀 We look forward to seeing you here😀And don’t forget, we offer free overnight camping, so you don’t have to worry about taxis or having a designated driver ☀️🎸🍺

From 6-8-30 we have a rowdy night of bingo planned for you. Comprising12 games of bingo, with several cash and age-appropriate non-cash prizes to be won. People who have been before Jane Brake Danielle Phillips Carle Wood Toby Coombs will tell you it’s not your average bingo night, and let’s face it, none of the events we put on are ever average, but they will tell you that it is a thoroughly entertaining evening. Snack foods will be available on the night. Cost is £12 for all 12 games, with all ticket sale money being put into the prize fund. It depends on the number of players, but offer the top prize is in the region of £75. Not a bad nights work if you win that. To book, call 01823 421070 or message us. Although we have ongoing maintenance work, the pub is open as usual, serving our full menu. As well as the beer garden to the front of the pub, we also have a seating area to the side of the pub. This is situated away from the road and gives some relief from the traffic noise. Also, we have some benches up on the bandstand, in the shade an giving some welcome relief from the sun. Inside the pub is nice and cool, and it is also perfect for your dog to relax in. And we have plenty of dog water bowls.

Also today, unlike other bank holidays, we are having an EVENING FOODSERVICE. So, wherever you might be coming back from, feel free to pop in and get a bite to eat. Take care in the sun, everyone, and we look forward to seeing you here ☀️😀☀️😀🍺🍻

Timebomz will be performing for us this coming Friday, 29th May, and if you forget what they were all about, hopefully this video will help to remind you. Rock and pop covers, with the odd curve ball, such as Wet Leg thrown in. They played indoors here last November, and as you can see, they got people moving their bodies in a very unco-ordinated manner. Imagine what they can deliver outdoors during this glorious stretch of weather. Free overnight camping is available. We look forward to seeing you here 😀☀️🎸⚡️☀️☀️☀️🍺

Big thanks to The Romantics for stepping in at very short notice and delivering a great gig on Friday. And what a varied set list, too - from The Beatles to Pet Shop Boys to Inspiral Carpets - something for everyone, really. And it was great to see their entourage mingling with the locals, making it a great way to kick start the summer programme of live music. The next gig will be this coming Friday, 29th, when the anarchic Timebomz will be delivering their blistering live set. Free overnight camping in our field is available to all. We are pleased to introduce this new lager to our range - Brew Box is a hoppy affair which, at 5% abv, packs a bit of a punch. I found this out to my cost on Saturday night/Sunday morning. But, that aside, it offers something a little different to traditional lagers. We look forward to seeing you here soon to give it a try😀
