The 2XMAS is a beer that words fail to truly describe. So I won't use many. This beer was so bad that the dogs wouldn't even come near it let alone drink it. So this one is our first -5 and it was unanimous. Drink it at your own peril.

This is another one of my favorites. It's one of those beers you put on ice just before you go out to mow the grass. The thought of having these waiting on me after I get done mowing has helped me get through a lot of those 90 deg 90% humidity days. Now if you don't like grapefruit then don't try these. The Big Wave by Kona is heavily infused with grapefruit. This beer when properly chilled is the best thirst quencher I have encountered. If you run across the Big Wave on tap, I highly recommend having a few. But please let me know where you found it. Now to my rating. I have to give the Big Wave a 4.0. It has everything I like in a beer. Great flavor, smooth, thirst quenching, and keeps me wanting more. The boys did not get to try this one either. Way too good. If you run into other Kona products, I recommend trying them also. The ones I have tried are all good. Those will get a review at a later date.

Visiting 2 of my favorite people and this was one of the beers in the cooler when I arrived:) The Hacher-Pschorr Original Oktoberfest is a very drinkable and pleasant beer. If you are not into hops, you will definite like the smooth taste of this amber. Another one so good that the dogs didn't get to try it. Sorry fellas.

Tried the Traveler beer at World of Beers. It can keep on traveling. Way too citrusy for my tastes. It was so citrusy the wife could barely taste the beer ( which to her was a good thing). I couldn't pick out an actual beer flavor only the way over powering citrus flavor. So I must give this one a (-1). Sorry no dogs or neighbor to back me up on this one.

My first beer review is, of course, "Alchemy Ale", brewed by the Widmer Bros. and moderately priced at $7.99 a six pack.
The initial taste is hoppy, but not too over the top. That is followed by various tendrils of flavor that combine for a very enjoyable experience. Alchemy Ale is my new favorite.
Overall rating is 3.5 from me and a 3.0 by my neighbor in a blind taste test. For an average of 3.25 (so good the dogs didn't even get to try it).
