I am beyond excited to kickstart this new journey with you all as the founder of Fit Pickleballer! 🎉 Let me tell you a bit about myself and how this all began.

🏊‍♀️Former FSU Swimmer: Swimming has been a significant part of my life, and it instilled in me a deep appreciation for fitness.

💪 Over 17 Years owning my Personal Training biz: As a seasoned personal trainer, I've had the privilege of helping numerous individuals achieve their fitness goals and lead healthier lives.

🏓 Pickleball Addict for 4 Years: Four years ago, I discovered the magic of pickleball, and there was no turning back! The thrill of the game, the camaraderie on the court, it's all simply addictive!

🔍 Bridging the Gap: In my pickleball journey, I noticed a crucial aspect missing – specific training to strengthen the muscles used in pickleball, along with mobility and lateral movement exercises to prevent injuries and build stamina.

🏋️‍♀️ Fit Pickleballer's Injury Prevention Program: This is where Fit Pickleballer comes in! I'm combining my passion for pickleball and my expertise in fitness to create an exclusive Injury Prevention program tailored for all you pickleball enthusiasts out there.

🌊 Personal and Fun Tidbits: When I'm not on the court or working on fitness programs, you can find me cherishing life's simple pleasures. I'm blessed to be married to my best friend for 25 years, and together, we share our home with three adorable cats. I spend time weekly volunteering at my favorite animal refuge, Alaqua. Living near the beach allows me to soak in the calming presence of the Gulf, especially during breathtaking sunsets, which are some of my favorite moments. And yes, I'm also a 🍷 wine lover, indulging in a glass now and then to celebrate life's victories!

🤗 I can't wait to embark on this journey with each one of you. Fit Pickleballer aims to be more than just a wellness business; it's a community where we celebrate our love for fitness, pickleball, and everything in between! 🎾 Let's strengthen those pickleball muscles, prevent injuries, and have a ton of fun together!

30 PEOPLE. ALL DIFFERENT LEVELS. ONE AMAZING COMMUNITY! 💚🏓

Yesterday’s Fit Pickleballer Monthly Social was everything I love about this game! We had 30 people show up, from beginners to more experienced players, all mixing it up on the courts, sharing laughs, meeting new people, and making new friends!

And of course, I had to add a little twist to our door prizes! 🎁 If your name was called, you couldn’t just collect your prize. You had to share THREE things you learned about someone new you met that day! Let’s just say it made for some pretty fun moments! 😂

One of my favorite things about these socials is watching players of all levels come together. It’s not about who’s the best player on the court. It’s about making everyone feel included, having fun, and building connections that go beyond the game.

This is why I love what I do. And it’s why I always say, they come for the game, but they stay for the people. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who came out and made yesterday so special! I love watching this community continue to grow, one game and one friendship at a time!

What a week at Fit Pickleballer! 🏓
Four new groups kicked off this week — Level 1, Level 2, Level 2.5 and Level 4 — along with our regular Open Play, and there was a LOT happening on these courts!

But looking back through these little clips, what I love most isn’t just the pickleball. It’s all the smiles and laughter. New friendships starting. People encouraging each other. And those moments when one or two small adjustments suddenly make something click and you can see the confidence grow.

One of my players texted me after class this week, “I felt like I grew tonight!” And that pretty much sums it up. ❤️

You don’t have to have everything figured out before you step on the court. You just have to be willing to learn, laugh at yourself a little, keep showing up and enjoy the people you’re doing it with.

A pretty great week of pickleball — and we’re just getting started! 🏓

I’ve heard this more times than I can count from people who are new to pickleball: “I was intimidated.”

Sometimes they’ve tried playing before. Sometimes they’ve taken a lesson somewhere. And sometimes they’ve been wanting to learn for months but haven’t because they’re nervous about walking onto a court when everyone else seems to know what they’re doing.

That’s why what Paula said after class meant so much to me…..

“We all thrive in an environment where we feel supported and it’s not intimidating.”

I want you to learn good technique, understand strategy and become a better pickleball player. But I also want you to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, laughing and trying again.
I really believe people learn better when they feel supported.

And if feeling intimidated has been the thing keeping you from getting out there, I hope this gives you a little encouragement to try. 🏓🫶

Okay friends, this is my LAST CALL for Rally, Renew & Reconnect Retreat!

Imagine waking up in Gulf Shores with nowhere you have to be. Coffee in hand, you step outside to a beautiful backyard with a pool, fire pit and our own PRIVATE pickleball court!

We will play, drill, and work on our game. But there will be plenty of time to sit by the pool, walk to the beach, linger over a great meal, laugh around the fire pit, and simply enjoy being away from the normal routines of life for a few days.

That’s what I wanted this retreat to feel like from the very beginning. Not a packed schedule, where we rush from one thing to the next, and definitely not just a Pickleball camp. I wanted to create a weekend where women could have fun, improve their game, relax, connect, and go home feeling renewed and really glad they said yes!

And now we ONE King room left.

I would love to see two besties grab it together. Four days and three nights in Gulf Shores with Pickleball Coaching beach time a private chef great food, a Bonfire and a really wonderful group of women already coming.

October 29 through November 1

I’m finalizing personalized gifts meals and all the little surprises we have planned so it’s time for me to close out that final room.

Maybe you’ve been telling yourself a story…
“I’m not athletic enough.”
“I’m too old to start.”
“I won’t know what I’m doing.”
“Everyone else will be better than me.”

This little clip from my recent conversation on Rick Steiner sums up one of my favorite things about teaching beginners.
People walk onto the court nervous, each carrying their own version of “I don’t know if I can do this.”

And then the magic happens.
They look around and realize…nobody knows what they’re doing yet. 😂 They’re learning together. They’re missing balls together. They’re laughing together. And almost immediately, that nervousness starts turning into camaraderie.

That’s why I love my beginner groups so much. You don’t need to be athletic. You don’t need to know the rules. And you definitely don’t need to “get good” before you show up.
You just have to be willing to start. 💙

My next Beginner Six-Week Program starts Wednesday, September 23 and runs through October 28, 5:45–7:00 PM, indoors on Mack Bayou Rd.

What a week. 💙Three Fit Pickleballer groups wrapped up their six-week programs this week, and yes, I’m proud of how much their pickleball improved.

But what happened at the end of my Beginner class last night is the part I keep thinking about.

As we talked about the past six weeks, several people said their favorite part wasn’t a particular shot or skill they learned. It was how supportive everyone was. How they cheered for each other. How comfortable they felt learning together.

There may have even been a few emotional moments. 🥹

THIS is why I love teaching beginners.
You do not need to know the rules. You don’t need to own a paddle. You don’t need to have someone to sign up with you. And you definitely don’t need to already be “good” at pickleball.

You just have to be willing to show up.
We’ll learn the game together, laugh at plenty of missed balls, celebrate the little wins, and somewhere along the way, you might just find yourself surrounded by people cheering you on.

And apparently, if you stick around long enough, someone may even bring homemade sourdough chocolate chip scones to class. 😂❤️ Thank you, Kyla Basham Jacobsen

And if you’re brand new (or pretty darn close!), my Beginner program is made for YOU. You don’t need to know the rules, own a paddle, or “get better first.” Come as you are — I’ll teach you from there. 😊

🏓 BEGINNER — Wednesdays 5:45–7:00pm | Sept 23–Oct 28 — spots available

🏓 LEVEL 2* — Mondays 6:00–7:15pm | Sept 21–Oct 26 — ONE spot left
