Trocken Mead Co.

Trocken Mead Co. Making awesome mead for the end of days for beer and wine drinkers alike. Not a real meadery...yet.

Started up in a garage with some carboys and a sense of adventure.

It certainly has been awhile since I've updated this page. For starters, my focus has shifted from brewing beer to making mead, my first passion. As of a few days ago, I officially reached the 100 gallon mark for total mead produced!

I think this calls for a tasting party...details to come soon.

Alrighty! Time to get back to the part you all like the most...tasting parties! The next one will be at the end of May, and we'll be brewing a batch of Death during the party so you all can see the process at work.

On a related note, if you feel so inclined, bring some brown bottles with you, and you can leave with those same bottles filled with some delicious beer/mead!

More details and an event TBD

There will likely be a brewing demonstration sometime soon. If you want to learn how to brew, or just want to hang out and drink some good beer, stay tuned.

Added two new 15.5 gallon "keggles" to the brewery equipment. And now that War is bottled and ready to rock your world, be prepared to face Death himself. Gonna put all the bugs I've been growing to good work.

I currently have a culture of all sorts of sour bacteria growing in anticipation of the first batch of Death and Famine.

There is a new beer being formulated...it is The Beast, Barleywine. 12.9% ABV (Revelations 12:9 mentions him by name), 666 IBU (theoretically), and fire red color. Not for the faint of heart.

This isn't your dad's micro-brew.

In addition to War, I have a new batch of the Mutiny on the Bounty Cyser fermenting away. I made a few small changes, so perhaps there will be a side-by-side of the two batches. And maybe I'll blend them...

02/04/2011

Hello everyone! I'm kicking things off right by starting test batches for War...uhn, yeah...what is it good for? Getting you drunk on hoppy, malty deliciousness. That's what.
