Thanks to everyone who joined us at the Whistle Stop last month!
This month, we are re-visiting a long-time favorite bar, The Lancers (4671 Park Blvd.) on Wednesday, July 22nd, starting at 5 p.m.
This will be a bit of a farewell Dive Bar get-together, as it will be the last one, for now, that Chris and Ellen will be hosting. At the end of July, they are heading to Portugal, where they’ll be hanging out for a couple of years. But fear not! Dive Bar will have an interim host, who many of you know, who will be taking over Dive Bar. Watch for that announcement to come shortly.
But first, Lancers!
It’s a neighborhood bar, through and through. It first opened in 1963, and while the building housing Lancers has been completely redone, the interior of the bar remains the same, just like you’re stepping back into the 60s.
They have a full bar. All beers are in cans or bottles only. They have Beer Nuts and Slim Jims. They have Miller High Life and serve a mean White Russian and an exceptional Bloody Mary. The bar now takes cash and cards.
There are two pool tables, a digital jukebox, and darts. There’s a pinball machine, and a Golden T.
Plan now to join us on Wednesday, July 22nd, starting at 5 p.m. to support Lancer and to say “so long for now” to Chris and Ellen.

CASH or CARDS? The Lancers takes both!
PARKING: Strictly street parking. Make it easy on yourself and take an Uber, Lyft, or a cab.
FOOD: Lancers doesn’t serve food (except for Beer Nuts and Slim Jims), but there are a bunch of places nearby where you can grab food and bring it in.
