I can honestly say that my passion for floral design has been one of my life’s biggest blessings. Through this passion, I have been fortunate enough to have met so many incredible and talented people. I am inspired by their hard work, strength, and fierce passion for creating beauty. This year has definitely been a year of growing and learning for me...and one of the biggest blessings and opportunities I had was freelancing for some incredible floral designers that I admire with my whole heart (you know who you are). I have also been very fortunate to have met so many wonderful clients that I consider friends. Thank you to my sweet brides and clients for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be a part of your special day...you have given me something so special...you have given me the gift of patience, strength, hope, joy, creativity, faith and friendship. I can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store. Tonight at the stroke of midnight, I will make a toast to all of you...and hope that you have a wonderful year filled with endurance, love, adventure, courage, bravery and beauty! 🌸🥂🍾

Hi! 👋🏻 everybody! I thought I’d finally introduce myself to all of you. My name is Nickie and I started Petals & Pollen in 2015. People often ask me how I got into the floral business...well, the truth is, I was living in Orange County and was going though one of the toughest and darkest periods of my life. I always loved flowers so I would often buy them to brighten up my apartment and to lift my spirits. Soon enough, I started to arrange flowers using different textures and colors. I then realized that this was one of the only things that brought happiness into my life again. Floral design, for me, was an escape from reality. It allowed me to use my creativity to create something that brought others happiness. One of the darkest periods in my life led me to one of my greatest joys.
I feel incredibly grateful to have met so many wonderful friends on this journey. I am continuously amazed by how many crazy talented floral designers there are in this industry. A lot of floral designers like me, have full-time jobs or are trying to grow a business while raising a family. Don’t let the prettiness of flowers fool you, this is not an easy job...long days of preparation and lots of love, passion, sweat and sometimes tears go into what we do. We as women, are incredibly powerful; especially when we unite to lift each other up and empower one another to overcome the obstacles and challenges we face as business owners. To all my fellow floral designers and those that are thinking about getting into this field, continue to follow your heart and lean on the friends you have made in this industry when you need help.
To all my past clients, and future clients, thank you for believing in me and fueling my passion for floral design. ❤️🌸
