THE DEAF WEDDING THAT TOUCHED OUR BARTENDER IN A WAY HE NEVER EXPECTED⠀

Our bartender arrived ready to serve a wedding. He never expected the bride, groom and their guests to leave such a powerful mark on him.⠀
⠀
Neither Bartenders On Demand nor our bartender knew beforehand that the bride, groom and almost everyone attending their wedding were Deaf. We discovered this while setting up the bar.⠀
⠀
Throughout the celebration, guests taught our bartender signs for drinks and bartending terms so they could communicate. What began with drink orders became laughter, learning and a special bond he would never forget.⠀
⠀
Toward the end of the wedding, we began filming what was supposed to be a typical event video of our bartender, the bar and the sun setting over the ocean.⠀

What our bartender said next was completely unplanned, unscripted and spoken from the heart.⠀

What happens when you name the signature cocktail after the birthday guy? Everyone wants a Mark-a-Rita.⠀

Josh and his wife gathered their closest friends in Rancho Santa Fe to celebrate Mark’s B-Day Bash. The music was blasting, cocktails were raised in the air, shots were going down, and nonstop laughter carried the party from daylight late into the night.⠀

At the center of it all was bartender Addy with Bartenders On Demand. With her bright smile, friendly personality, and professional service, Addy made every guest feel welcome as they gathered around her bar. In 2019, six original craft cocktails created by Bartenders On Demand in San Diego were featured in San Diego Style Weddings Magazine.⠀

1. Café Du Soleil was inspired by our founder’s Miami bartending days and California’s love of coffee and sunshine. It is made with our house-infused espresso vodka, created from a private recipe and not sold in stores.⠀
2. El Caliente Milagro transformed a rum cocktail originally created in Miami into a fiery tequila cocktail honoring California’s Mexican heritage.⠀
3. Skeletor’s Revenge was inspired by childhood memories of He-Man and reborn as a dramatic Halloween cocktail served in a smoky skull glass.⠀
4. Maui Sunrise came from a peaceful Maui morning spent watching dolphins swim past while enjoying piña coladas. It brings that tropical feeling to Southern California.⠀
5. The Crows Flip honors James Christopher Crow and our founder’s love of Woodford Reserve bourbon.⠀
6. Mom’s Garden began when our founder’s girlfriend and her friend returned from yoga and requested something light, refreshing and organic using produce and herbs from the farmers market.⠀
