Second Life Glass

Second Life Glass We believe in the beauty and usefulness of glass products re-imagined with new uses & new purpose. http://etsy.com/shop/secondlifeglass And that’s what we do.”

Mike & Margie, owners of Second Life Glass, started reworking wine bottles into useful items because they could. They’ve always been big on reusing items in their house and being a contractor, Mike is handy with a tile saw, so adding a glass blade and working with glass was easy. After cutting a few bottles into juice glasses with his tile saw and hand sanding to smooth rough edges on the first fe

w prototypes, Mike bought some professional gear to really ensure he could do it right. They soon discovered that each bottle could become 2 or 3 other items to use around the house, or give to family and friends as gifts. They now turn old wine and liquor bottles into drinking glasses, vases, hurricane lanterns, tea light holders and other useful items and sell them here for others to enjoy. Mike’s philosophy is “If we’re going to survive as a planet, we have to recycle and reuse more. Producing new glass isn’t nearly as much benefit to the environment as recycling or repurposing old glass.
