Journey downstairs for an evening centered on bourbon—its American roots, its time in oak, and the details that give each bottle its own character. This guided tasting will move through a thoughtfully selected lineup designed to show just how much range can exist within one of America’s most storied spirits.

We’ll explore the influence of mash bills, barrel aging, proof, and distilling style as we work through each pour. Expect familiar notes of caramel and vanilla alongside baking spice, toasted oak, dark fruit, and deeper charred flavors.

Led by our expert team, the evening is built for longtime bourbon drinkers and those looking to understand the spirit a little better. Good wh***ey, a little history, and a proper look at what makes bourbon bourbon.

Eighty miles of interstate sit between Austin and Southtown. For one night, they don't.

It is our privilege to welcome Bar Hacienda behind our bar — the Rainey Street lounge with the leather chairs, the Persian rugs, and a mezcal program worth the drive. They know what it is to be found only by those already looking.

Two guest cocktails, poured for one night only:

CARAGIGILO — Reposado tequila, sweet vermouth, miso, Licor 43 & spent coffee

HACIENDA HIGHBALL — Zancudo Espadín mezcal, toasted coconut, clarified citrus & soda

Our full menu is pouring alongside them all evening.

The Exchange runs the length of the day across San Antonio. We are the nightcap. Bar Hacienda pours until midnight. We keep the lights low until two.

No reservations. No sign out front. Down the dimly lit stairs at the Blue Star Arts Complex, the way it has always been done.

Join us Thursday, July 16th, at 7:30 PM for an exclusive first look at what’s coming next behind the bar.

This Summer Cocktail Tasting will feature a preview of upcoming cocktails soon to be featured on our Apothecary menu, along with a few select creations poured just for the evening. Think bright spirits, fresh balance, and the kind of drinks made for long summer nights at 1919.

Tickets are $65 per person, plus fees. Space is limited, so we recommend reserving your seat early.

Descend the stairs. The secret's out on weekends.
Brunch is now served Saturday & Sunday, 12–4 PM, or while supplies last.

On the table:
Baguette — spicy peach jam, dill & serrano cream cheese, salted herb butter.
Bruschetta Bella — sliced baguette, bruschetta mix, shredded parmesan, toasted mozza balls, basil.
House Salad — spring mix, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, house vinaigrette.
Bagels & Lox — cured smoked salmon, dill & serrano cream cheese, capers, mirin mignonette, dill fronds.
Panini Dreams — ciabatta, prosciutto, soppressata, smoked gouda, hot honey, spinach, roma tomatoes, sun-dried tomato aioli. Add chips for $2 — choice of foie gras, Iberian ham, or extra-virgin olive oil.
Wedge Salad — iceberg, blue cheese crumble, sherry honey balsamic glaze, cherry tomatoes, cilantro. Add guanciale bits for $2.

Our cocktail lineup includes brunch favorites like the Kir Royale, French 75, Americano, Espresso Martini, Metexa, Pimm’s Cup, and Aperol Spritz, plus our featured cocktail, Mañana Peligrosa — a bold brunch sipper made with Hamilton Demerara 151, Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur, Cinnamon Syrup, Pseudo Citrus, and Pineapple Juice, finished with a skewered candied ribbon garnish.

Fourteen years of 1919 calls for a proper pour. 🥃

Join us Thursday, May 28th, as we celebrate 14 incredible years of good wh***ey, good company, and the loyal family that made this place what it is.

We’ll be serving Carbonara, $5 Sweet Potato Bombs, and Charcuterie Cups, with live music by Vanita Leo in the evening, and a welcome back to some of our Bar Alumni.
