My buddy Chuck Holman and I hit Folsom to see if we could shake the skunk off my boat. 2 salmon early (didn’t get a pic of the bigger fish, maybe 4 lbs, which we kept. This one went back) and a good takedown too but after 8 it went dead again. Lots of marks still, conditions were ideal. The 360 in this vid got both fish today. The bite’s got to improve and I know a couple guys who’ve done alright recently. Put. In. The. Time (saying that as much to myself as anyone else!) After an incredible morning yesterday today was the complete opposite! 5 hours, 1 strike…maybe. Literally my first skunk trip on Folsom in nearly a year. Zero idea why. By the time realized what was going on, it was really too late to try much else, or anywhere else. It’s embarrassing to post about it but I want to be honest. I flat-out sucked today and that is how fishing goes, at every level and of skill and knowledge. I even snagged a damned tree and lost my favorite flasher. All of us are occasionally the windshield and we’re all occasionally the bug. The fish gods see to that 🤷‍♂️

5 for 8 so far this morning on Folsom. Cloudy, little breezy, some rain drops. Feels like we’re on Puget Sound! Released all but one (revision: ended up 7/10)

Believe it or not these are 2 different fish! Both hit within 10 min of each other around 7:30. We lost a toad 20’ from the boat about 2 hours later, and had a couple drive bys, but overall a pretty slow morning for us. White wonderbread Rusty Chester 360 from 55-70’ got nearly all the action, with a pink/pearl hoochie/ anchovy. Still a lot of kings to be had though!
