Happy Anniversary Eddie Russell! This year marks the 45th anniversary of Hall of Fame Master Distiller Eddie Russell with the Wild Turkey Distillery. His is one of the most impressive careers in all of whiskey history.

and I had the pleasure of catching Eddie and Bruce while at the distillery hunting our single barrel last month. This photo taken inside the Station Master's house is one of my favorite since starting Whiskey Bonded.

Thanks to and for always being willing to take a minute to talk Turkey. (Pun intended!)

Russell’s Reserve 13 is back for 2026, celebrating Eddie Russell's anniversary with Wild Turkey. This one clocks in at 121.2 proof. According to Bruce Russell, Wild Turkey’s Associate Master Blender, the batching is composed of many barrels well over 13 years. The youngest whiskey in this year’s blend is close to 14 years old, with a significant amount of stock in the 16-18 year range as well.

The release coincides with a new documentary celebrating Eddie's distinguished career with the distillery. (Definitely watch so you recognize Eddie if you see him in person. 😳)

Kentucky bourbon meets Japanese single malt. One hell of a fusion.

Bardstown Bourbon Co.’s Distillery Reserve Mars blends mature Kentucky Straight Bourbon with Mars Japanese whisky, then finishes them together in the same barrel for an extra year.
A smart collaboration that bridges two great traditions beautifully. 🥃

and I went two very different directions with our Tuesday night pours!

I poured a Midleton Very Rare and she grabbed the Garrison Brothers Lady Bird Cask Strength! 😯

Both are EXCELLENT pours for totally different reasons. Which would you pour tonight?

What do you think about Sazerac's first Tennessee Whiskey? AJ Bond Tennessee Whiskey is the flagship brand from AJ Bond Distillery located in La Vergne.

Anyone looking forward to full proof version coming out next year? 🤔 Kidding! Maybe.

I'd like to apologize for this one.

6 years. 6 casks. One hell of a move.

Gambit No. 6 from Master Distiller Chip Tate takes a Kentucky Straight Bourbon and finishes it across six different barrels. The result is a 92-proof whiskey built for serious complexity.

Chip’s latest calculated risk really pays off. Highly recommended for fans of layered, cask-finished bourbons. 🥃

Whiskey Travel Hack! It's also technically possible to fit 15 50ml bottles in the TSA required 1 quart bag, meaning you COULD bring a whole 750ml bottle on the plane. 🤔 I haven't tried that one.

What's your favorite alcohol related travel trick?

TSA rules state that liquids must be 100ml or smaller and all able to fit into a 1 quart bag. Alcohol must also be under 140p.

Have you started to see these previous 'unicorns' showing up more around you?

Full Ryde Bourbon 8yr VS Old Louisville 8yr Bardstown Whiskey Bonded Single Barrel - Which is best? 👇

Full Ryde is a blend 8yr MPG and 13yr undisclosed Kentucky Bourbon

This Old Louisville is an 8yr old Bardstown single barrel selected by myself and the WB Patrons

No rhyme of reason for this one, just a random pull for tonight's pours on the couch.

WHICH IS BEST??

No question, the Full Ryde is better. It's more mature, deeper, richer and more complex. Here's the problem...

The Full Ryde is $295, while the Old Louisville is $79.99. That makes it hard to pick the Full Ryde if you're standing at a store shelf staring at both. In that case, I'd recommend the Old Louisville. It's a maple bomb with all the flavor you'd hope for from an 8yr old Bardstown... For under $80.

You can get the Old Louisville at BondedBottleShop and watch out for Full Ryde's upcoming second release. It's suppose to be a lot less expensive, so that should be interesting. 🥃
