Don't miss NWA Poetry Connection's Poetry Open Mic at Baked by Kori in downtown Rogers on Thursday, September 10th at 6:30 PM! It will be an amazing evening of poetry and community.
We're excited to welcome poet and activist Leah Juliett to feature this month! Open Mic starts at 6:30. Leah's feature starts at 7 PM and will be followed by more open mic.
Leah Juliett (they/them/theirs) is an award-winning spoken word poet, organizer, and survivor activist whose work sits at the intersection of digital safety, LGBTQ+ identity, tech accountability, and survivor justice.
Leah has delivered addresses at the Biden White House, United States Senate, and the World Health Assembly. They have performed at Busboys and Poets, The Kennedy Center, and New York City Hall. They are the first nonbinary winner of the L’Oreal Paris Woman of Worth Award and the Glamour College Woman of the Year Award.
Leah lives in Northwest Arkansas by way of Connecticut and uses poetry to advocate for a world where every survivor is safe, seen, and free. Their debut collection of poetry, Naked in Public (2021) is available worldwide.

--How do I sign up to read?
Sign-ups start at 6:15. There will be a clipboard and pen on a table near the entrance.
--What about music?
We'd really like to focus on spoken word and creative writing. There are lots of open mics for music already out there.
--How long can I speak?
4 minutes
--Can I read a short story or flash fiction?
YES! As long as it's under 4 minutes, we're happy to hear your creative writing!
--Can I read someone else's poem?
Of course! Just be sure to give them credit.
--How often is it?
Monthly. It's every second Thursday of the month with Art on the Bricks.
