The Art of Seating: Two Hundred Years of American Design presents a survey of exceptional American chair design from the early nineteenth century to the present. Now through April 17th at the Virginia Historical Society.

Few objects tell the history of modern design as eloquently as the chair. Aesthetics trends, the emergence of new technologies, erognomics, social and cultural developments are all reflected in the evolution of chair design.

Vintage Globe 2000 Frank Ligtelijn designed lamp for Raak, Amsterdam, Holland. The glass globe rests in the chrome cradle and is omnidirectional. Excellent overall condition!

Fantastic vintage barkcloth in pristine condition! We have a soft spot for all things tiki, so we were ecstatic when these drapes came into the rotation. Not only are they rare, but they are an excellent example of the playfulness and the brilliant colors of mid century design.

Sofa designed by Paul Mccobb for Directional, 1950's. This needs to be reupholstered and needs new cushions; wood frame is excellent, no chips or cracks.
